The Head of Proposition leads the development, management, and continual improvement of a portfolio of market‑ready propositions. The role ensures that propositions are grounded in customer need, commercially viable, and positioned effectively in the market. This is a senior leadership position responsible for shaping strategy, guiding cross‑functional teams, and turning insight into compelling solutions that drive growth.
Define the strategy, vision, and direction for a proposition portfolio, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer needs.
Prioritise proposition development activity based on opportunity size, customer value, competitiveness, and commercial return.
Oversee the development of new propositions, ensuring they are evidence‑based, well‑defined, and commercially sound.
Guide user research, discovery activity, and market validation to ensure propositions address real customer problems.
Use market analysis, competitor intelligence, and customer insight to shape proposition direction and investment decisions.
Develop business cases and commercial models that demonstrate viability, pricing strategy, and return on investment.
Monitor pipeline, demand signals, and performance data to refine propositions and inform portfolio decisions.
Act as a senior partner to sales, marketing, product, and operational teams, ensuring propositions are understood and consistently represented.
Oversee go‑to‑market planning, working with marketing and sales to ensure propositions are clearly positioned and easy to sell.
Lead and coach proposition specialists, fostering a high‑performance, insight‑led culture.
Champion best practice in proposition development methodologies.
Build organisational capability in customer insight, value definition, and commercial thinking.
About You
Proven experience leading proposition, product, or solution development in a complex or multi‑service environment.
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to build robust business cases.
Confident operating at senior levels, influencing decisions and managing competing priorities.
Experience translating customer problems into structured, market‑ready propositions.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, market insight, and customer feedback.
Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and work effectively across organisational boundaries.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to articulate value simply and persuasively.
Desirable
Experience in service‑led, technology‑enabled or public‑sector markets.
Exposure to user‑centred design, discovery, or agile development approaches.
Experience developing pricing models or commercial frameworks.
Ability to navigate complex organisations and influence change.
