Position Overview:
We're seeking an exceptional Director, Business Technology to lead the strategy, governance, and continuous operation and evolution of our enterprise application portfolio. This role oversees the Business Applications function – including our HRIS, CRM, ERP, and Work Management/ITSM platforms and their associated ecosystems – and is responsible for ensuring these systems deliver measurable value to the business.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate IT, the Director of Business Technology serves as the senior IT partner to HR, Finance, Sales, and Operations leadership. With an eye on security and operational excellence, you'll own the application roadmap, drive platform strategy, manage key vendor relationships, and lead a growing organization that will include three managers and a growing team of 20 business analysts today across all functions, scaling up to 30+ this year. You will help grow the org through hiring efforts, directly overseeing some business analysts until all managers are hired.
What We Need From You:
Define and own the enterprise application strategy and multi-year roadmap across HRIS, CRM, ERP, Work Management/ITSM platforms, and Tier 2 tools
Align platform investments and initiatives to business priorities in partnership with functional leaders and Corporate IT management
Evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities that drive efficiency, scalability, and competitive advantage
Lead business case development for new platform investments, expansions, and consolidations – including executive-level presentations and ROI framing
Serve as the primary IT relationship owner for HR, Finance, Sales, and Operations senior leadership
Translate complex business needs into technology strategies and actionable roadmap items
Facilitate alignment across business units on shared platform decisions, prioritization, and change impacts
Represent Business Technology in cross-functional leadership forums and steering committees
Lead, develop, and support the managers and their respective teams
Own the hiring roadmap for the Business Technology function – including taking over hiring efforts already in flight, and scaling the overall Business Technology team from 20 to 30+ this year
Directly manage business applications analysts on an interim basis until all managers are onboard, providing hands-on oversight of priorities, escalations, and day-to-day operations
Set team direction, establish performance expectations, and build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Partner with the Senior Director on org design, capacity planning, and talent strategy
Own strategic vendor relationships for core platforms, including executive escalation, roadmap alignment, and commercial negotiations
Coach managers on stakeholder management, vendor oversight, and team development
Oversee contract renewals, licensing optimization, and vendor performance management across the application portfolio
Evaluate and manage implementation partners and system integrators
Establish and enforce governance frameworks for application change management, release management, and platform standards
Oversee the intake and prioritization process for application enhancements and projects across the portfolio
Drive delivery of major programs – including integrations, implementations, and merger-related application consolidations – in partnership with cross-functional teams
Work with the GRC team to ensure application environments meet audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, HIPAA)
