Senior Backend Engineer - Java & Cloud Platform

You will work on a large-scale Java-based platform used in high-traffic and enterprise environments, contributing to both core product and cloud infrastructure. You’ll collaborate closely with senior engineers and tech leadership to design, build, and improve scalable systems. The role combines backend development with cloud and platform engineering, with a strong focus on code quality and long-term maintainability. You will also play a key role in addressing technical challenges and shaping the evolution of the platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services in Java within a complex platform environment

• Contribute to cloud platform development and deployment workflows (AWS / OVH)

• Develop APIs and integrate with cloud vendor services

• Work across the stack when needed (Java + JS/TS components)

• Participate in architecture and technical design decisions

• Review code, ensure quality standards, and manage technical debt

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues

• Collaborate with Product, QA, and Support teams

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in backend development with strong Java expertise

• Proven experience building and maintaining production systems

• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, OVH or similar)

• Strong knowledge of Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines

• Experience working in distributed systems or scalable architectures

• Comfortable with code reviews, debugging, and writing maintainable code

• Exposure to JS/TS (React is a plus)

• Open-source contributions are a strong plus

• Fluent English (daily working language)
