Position Summary:
Amkor Technology Arizona is seeking an experienced Facilities Telecommunications Engineer responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of telecommunication and physical security systems for Amkor’s OSAT factory. This includes structured cabling, fiber optics, wireless networks, and voice/data systems, as well as security technologies such as CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection. The engineer will ensure system reliability, seamless integration with facility operations, and compliance with corporate standards and local regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and implement telecommunication infrastructure (structured cabling, fiber optics, wireless systems).
- Coordinate installation and integration of voice and data systems with facility operations.
- Maintain and troubleshoot telecommunication systems to ensure reliable connectivity.
- Monitor system performance and execute preventive maintenance programs.
- Collaborate with IT, construction teams, and vendors during facility build-out and expansion projects.
- Review and validate technical drawings and specifications for telecom systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and corporate security policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of telecom layouts, equipment, and configurations.
- Support audits and inspections related to telecommunication infrastructure.
- Design and oversee installation of security systems, including CCTV cameras, access control systems, intrusion detection, and intercoms.
- Integrate physical security systems with network infrastructure for monitoring and control.
- Coordinate with security integrators, GC, and commissioning teams to ensure proper installation and system turnover.
- Evaluate emerging security technologies and recommend upgrades for improved reliability, efficiency, and lifecycle support.
- Support troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for security technology systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Security Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in telecom security technology system design and maintenance, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, VoIP systems, wireless technologies, CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection.
- Familiarity with network protocols and integration with IT systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong Proficiency in software tools (AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, Bluebeam).
- Experience in design, construction, commissioning, and start-up preferred.
- Professional certifications (PE, PSP, CPP, BICSI) are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and awkward positions.
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs and adjust heavy objects.
- Exposure to sharp, hot, and cold equipment.
- Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator.
- Ability to climb ladders, work at elevation, and in confined spaces with PPE.
Location:
This position will be based at the Arizona Tempe and Peoria sites during the Construction phase and will transition to Peoria for management during the Factory Operation phase. This position will be onsite but will have flexibility to work from home on occasion.
