Job Description: Technical ABAP Developer – S/4HANA Data Migration
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical ABAP Developer to support an S/4HANA data migration program. The role focuses on building, enhancing, and supporting technical components required to extract, transform, validate, and load data from legacy systems into SAP S/4HANA. The ideal candidate has hands-on S/4HANA experience, deep ABAP expertise, and strong familiarity with data migration tools, processes, and objects.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Development for Data Migration:
- Develop and enhance ABAP programs to support data extraction, transformation, staging, and validation.
- Build custom utilities, reports, and conversion routines required for migration.
- Support LTMOM enhancements for SAP Migration Cockpit objects.
- Create custom function modules, BAPIs, BADIs, user exits, and CDS Views as needed.
- Optimize performance for high-volume loads.
Migration Execution Support:
- Participate in mapping workshops and provide technical insights.
- Build transformation logic based on business and functional rules.
- Support mock loads, SIT/UAT loads, and cutover execution.
- Troubleshoot load failures and resolve defects quickly.
- Produce technical logs, reconciliation outputs, and post-load validations.
Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with functional consultants to validate requirements.
- Align with Data Migration Leads on timelines and deliverables.
- Coordinate with BASIS and technical teams to prepare migration environments.
- Collaborate with implementation partners to ensure smooth integration.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Strong ABAP development experience focused on data migration.
- Hands-on S/4HANA experience and knowledge of migration tools.
- Expertise in ABAP Objects, BAPIs, BADIs, IDocs, LSMW.
- Familiarity with SAP Migration Cockpit, LTMOM, and load processes.
- Experience with SAP master and transactional data structures.
- Skilled in debugging, performance tuning, and handling large datasets.
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LTMOM enhancements or custom migration objects.
- Knowledge of SAP BODS or ETL tools.
- Experience in S/4HANA greenfield or brownfield migrations.
- Familiarity with HANA DB concepts, SQLScript, and AMDP.
- Understanding of data governance and quality processes.

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting hourly range for this remote role is
$140 to $155. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
