Job description

Evergreen Strategy Group, a social impact, public policy, and communications agency, is seeking Interns with excellent writing and research skills to help support client work in Summer 2026. Ideal candidates will be highly self-motivated, good collaborators, detail-oriented, fast learners, and interested in a wide variety of state-level and national public policy issues.

As part of the Evergreen team, you will contribute to strategies and campaigns that help purpose-driven companies, nonprofits, and public figures make progress on important issues – from climate change to voting rights to gun violence prevention, and more.

Job responsibilities will include:
  • Research: Collecting and synthesizing background material on legislation and policy developments across various issue areas, potential clients, reporters and news outlets, and current events. Contributing research to inform messaging, speechwriting, policy memos, and other written products.
  • Communications: Quickly assembling press relations materials, such as pitch notes, press lists, press releases, media trackers, and other written products.
  • Writing: Depending on availability of projects, interns may have the opportunity to take the first pass on briefs, one-pagers, and memos and support the outlining and drafting of op-eds, speeches, and other written products on substantive policy topics and political issues.

  • Experience and Qualifications:
  • Junior, Senior, or Master’s student in an accredited college or university (currently enrolled or within six months post-graduation);
  • 2+ previous, relevant internship or volunteer experiences;
  • Relevant experience should demonstrate interest in public policy, progressive electoral politics, social justice, corporate purpose, or a closely related field.
  • Excellent writing and research skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized;
  • Positive attitude and ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a virtual work environment;
  • Proactive and able to manage time effectively with limited oversight;
  • At least 15 hours of set weekly availability, within standard working hours on a continental U.S. time zone;
  • U.S. work authorization is required, as we do not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
  • This is a fully remote position. Pay is $20/hour, and 15-20 hours/week is expected. The start and end dates for this position are flexible based on your academic calendar, but will approximately run from June 1, 2026 to August 28, 2026. Mentorship and professional development will be priorities, and we will offer opportunities to network with our staff, fellow interns from around the country, and policy and communications professionals outside Evergreen through virtual events.

    Evergreen is committed to building a diverse team and strongly encourages women, people of color, individuals with disabilities, and veterans to apply. Due to the high volume of applications, our staff cannot conduct informational interviews. We encourage all interested candidates to apply, and our team will be in touch.
