About Nasittuq Corporation

Nasittuq Corporation provides in-service support and facility operations and maintenance for the North Warning System. We also have a contract to provide site support and management services for the Ellesmere Island Commercial Support Contract in Alert, Nunavut. Nasittuq's mission is to provide exemplary technical and management services to our Canadian Government customers, while increasing opportunities for Inuit participation as trainees, employees, suppliers and owners. Nasittuq Corporation is a partnership between ATCO Frontec Ltd. and Pan Arctic Inuit Logistics Corporation (PAIL). POSITION TITLE: Building Custodian
LOCATION: Remote Long Range Radar Sites across Nunavut

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Reliability

POSITION TYPE: Permanent, 6x6 Rotation
REPORTS TO: Site Supervisor

Scope

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Building Custodian is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the site. Candidates with experience in custodial or cleaning duties are encouraged to apply!

What You’ll Do

Maintain the facilities in a healthy, safe, and sanitary condition.
Complete daily cleaning and custodial work duties within set deadlines.
Escalate maintenance, custodial, and safety issues to the supervisor as necessary.
Perform janitorial and housekeeping tasks including mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, and more.
Assist with kitchen duties, including unloading and stocking foodstuffs and general kitchen cleaning.
Clean employee rooms during vacancy periods.
Respond to colleagues' and visitors' inquiries professionally and promptly.
Report any concerns immediately to the supervisor.
Undertake other related tasks as required.

Who You Are

Education:

High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications/Licenses:

Valid driver’s license preferred.

Experience:

Previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping functions considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety guidelines.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Capability to work in physically demanding, adverse weather conditions in remote locations.
Reliable, team-oriented, with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Additional Requirements:

This is a permanent, full-time position (48 hours per week), Monday to Saturday
Rotational work 6 weeks on 6 weeks off
Must be willing to travel to other adjacent sites as requested
Candidates that reside in Goose Bay, NL are eligible for shorter rotations due to ability to accommodate the additional flights

Compensation and Benefits

Unionized hourly wage: $25.10 - $31.37 per hour
Overtime calculated at 1.5x over 40 hour/week
6% Vacation Pay
