Roles & Responsibilities

  • PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution

  • Maintain active multi-state pharmacist licenses and ensure compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA, FDA, and state-specific requirements, while supporting audit readiness
  • Execute workflows for manufacturer-sponsored free goods programs, collaborate with HUB services, case managers, and patient support teams to resolve access or eligibility issues, and participate in program operations and quality improvements

JOB TITLE: Staff Pharmacist – Non-Commercial Pharmacy


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Staff Pharmacist will play a critical role in the operations of a non-commercial (Free Goods) pharmacy, ensuring compliant, efficient, and patient-centered dispensing of manufacturer-sponsored medications. This role requires active pharmacist licensure across multiple states and deep expertise in regulatory compliance, patient services, and operational execution in a centralized pharmacy model.

This pharmacist will collaborate cross-functionally with patient support programs, manufacturers, HUB services, and internal operations teams to ensure timely and accurate medication access for patients enrolled in free goods programs.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Dispensing & Clinical Oversight

  • Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Ensure all prescriptions meet program eligibility and compliance requirements specific to free goods distribution
  • Provide clinical oversight and drug utilization review (DUR) where applicable
  • Counsel patients and/or caregivers as required, ensuring appropriate medication use and adherence

Multi-State Compliance & Licensing

  • Maintain active pharmacist licenses in multiple states and ensure compliance with each state’s Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Adhere to all applicable laws including DEA, FDA, and state-specific requirements
  • Support audit readiness and participate in internal/external audits

Program & Operational Execution

  • Execute workflows aligned to manufacturer-sponsored free goods programs, including enrollment validation and prescription processing
  • Collaborate with HUB services, case managers, and patient support teams to resolve access or eligibility issues
  • Support inventory management, including receipt, storage, and tracking of non-commercial product

Quality & Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and patient experience
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, documentation standards, and quality assurance protocols
  • Participate in training and onboarding of pharmacy staff as needed

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams including operations, compliance, and program management
  • Interface with manufacturers and third-party vendors supporting patient access programs
  • Act as a subject matter expert on non-commercial pharmacy workflows and regulations


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, regulatory requirements, and dispensing systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting manufacturer-sponsored patient assistance or free goods programs
  • Background in specialty pharmacy, HUB services, or centralized fulfillment models
  • Familiarity with REMS programs, prior authorization processes, and patient onboarding workflows
  • Experience working in a multi-state or national pharmacy operation
