The Cloud Operation Engineer at CSG Systems, Inc. will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of complex server infrastructures, operating systems, and related applications. This role ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of enterprise systems, participating in strategic planning and technical leadership.
We are looking for a Cloud Operation Engineer who will:
Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable server infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows Server), virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and IBM AS400/iSeries.
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive solutions to ensure optimal system health and uptime.
Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for system administration tasks, configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef), and infrastructure as code.
Manage and maintain enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.
Implement and enforce security best practices, vulnerability management, and compliance standards for all managed systems.
Collaborate with development, network, and security teams to support application deployments, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior administrators, contributing to team skill development.
Participate in on-call rotation for critical system support and incident response.
Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve system efficiency and reliability.
Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of experience in systems administration with a focus on enterprise-level environments.
Expert-level proficiency with Linux operating systems (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server administration.
Strong experience with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V).
Experience with IBM AS400/iSeries.
Demonstrable experience with AWS including IaaS and PaaS services. Experience with Azure is a plus.
Experience with AI tools.
Proven ability to write and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, Load Balancing).
Some Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
Familiarity with database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MCSA, RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate) are a plus.
Proficiency in English in a business environment is a must.
