ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a Senior Technology Engineer to support the delivery of key technology initiatives across cloud, security, and platform engineering. In this role, you’ll work closely with our VP of Technology and collaborate with engineering teams across the business to strengthen our technical foundations and accelerate modernisation efforts.

If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, influencing architecture, and working across multiple domains, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high growth, data driven organisation.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Deliver strategic technology initiatives by contributing hands on expertise across cloud, security, infrastructure, and platform projects.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional technical programmes, drawing on real world experience of large scale transformations to drive progress and remove delivery risks.
  • Strengthen cloud architecture, helping design and implement secure, scalable, and cost efficient solutions across our multi cloud environments.
  • Support security and compliance efforts, translating requirements into practical engineering controls across identity, access, and cloud workloads.
  • Advance automation practices through infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD improvements, and tooling enhancements that improve consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate technology and tooling, providing practical insight during vendor assessments, build vs. buy discussions, and innovation opportunities.
  • Share knowledge across teams, contributing to a culture of learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in a hands-on engineering capacity.
  • Background in delivering technical improvements within multi-team or multi-platform environments.
  • Practical understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Skilled with automation and infrastructure-as-code, with a track record of delivering high quality, repeatable infrastructure.
  • A collaborative working style, able to build trust and work effectively across teams.
  • Clear communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING THAT WOULD BE GREAT:

  • Cloud certifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Experience supporting technology evaluation or tooling decisions is a bonus.
  • Formal training in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

WE WILL OFFER YOU:

  • A dynamic work environment at OAG, fostering innovation in a progressive, non-hierarchical culture, where passionate tech enthusiasts continuously develop new products and solutions with a focus on improvement for the aviation industry.
  • Flexible working arrangements that allow remote work or office attendance.
  • An attractive compensation and benefits package, including private health insurance, a company bonus scheme and enhanced pension scheme
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, growing with each year of service, and a day off during your birthday month.
  • Work remotely anywhere in the world for up to 1 month per year
  • Annual learning and development budget

OAG is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and able to perform at their best.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. If you require reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know — we’re happy to have an open conversation about how we can support you.
