Overview of the Role

The People and Culture Consultant is a key member of the Pivot team and reports to a Principal Consultant. This is a full-time permanent position. In this role, you will work with a diverse range of clients and industries, partnering with leaders to diagnose workplace challenges and design practical strategies that support organizational success.

This role is ideal for an experienced HR Generalist/Business Partner who enjoys consulting, problem-solving, and tackling complex people issues. You bring strong experience in at least three of the following areas:

  • Learning & development
  • Talent acquisition
  • Employee relations
  • Labour relations 
  • Workplace investigations
  • Total compensation 
  • Culture and engagement


What You'll Do

You will partner closely with clients and colleagues to provide strategic and practical HR support, including:

  • Serving as a trusted HR advisor to leaders across multiple industries
  • Supporting clients in areas such as organizational development, workforce strategy, performance management and employee relations
  • Managing complex and sensitive workplace issues, including bullying and harassment, conflict resolution, progressive discipline and terminations
  • Conducting workplace investigations, preparing investigation reports and providing clear recommendations
  • Advising leaders on day-to-day HR issues and employment legislation
  • Designing and facilitating engaging leadership and HR training programs
  • Supporting client recruitment processes from job posting to interviews and reference checks
  • Developing and reviewing HR policies, procedures and employee manuals
  • Analyzing HR programs and recommending improvements to strengthen organizational effectiveness
  • Collaborating with the Pivot team on projects and initiatives that support our growing client base


What You Bring

We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in HR consulting or generalist practice, specifically:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience in multiple functional areas
  • A Degree or Diploma in Human Resources
  • CPHR designation, or active progress toward obtaining it, is considered a strong asset
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, and WorkSafeBC guidelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex HR concepts into clear, practical guidance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment
  • Collaborative and personable, with a high degree of accountability and professionalism
  • Skilled at navigating complex and sensitive workplace situations with discretion and sound judgment

Compensation$90,000 - $110,000 annually
