Job Scope: Provide detailed electrical design support in the following areas, as requested and coordinated with the project or discipline lead: Technical review and support of developing engineering deliverables, Assistance with issue resolution related to design, documentation, or system coordination, Support for cross discipline coordination to ensure alignment of technical information, Participation in project meetings or reviews, as needed, to provide subject matter input, Review and feedback on drawings, calculations, equipment information, or technical documentation within his area of expertise
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Contribute to electrical power system design including scope documents, schedules, budgets, single line diagrams, elementary, and wiring diagrams, layout, model, and circuitry design.
Compliance with all applicable codes and standards, QA requirements, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
Providing timely and accurate technical input when requested
Communicating identified issues, risks, or concerns to the appropriate project stakeholders
Supporting adherence to applicable standards, procedures, and project requirements
Coordinating with the assigned discipline lead or project manager to prioritize support activities
Documenting key technical decisions or recommendations when required
Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is required.
Certification: Certification is not required at this level.
Experience: This position requires 15 or more years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to apply detailed knowledge of electrical design principals & requirements, develop detailed scope of work documentation, coordinate field verification, design & drafting (AutoCAD) of industrial equipment/components such as switchgear, motor control centers, programmable logic controllers, power panels, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, heat tracing, etc.
7+ years-experience with new construction or industrial facilities.
10+ years with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and CAD Overlay and experience.
Capable of preparing single-line, elementary, equipment layouts, cable tray layout, and wiring diagrams with little oversight.
Work with a team and independently to create 3D models.
Proficient in problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal/communications skills.
Effectively communicate with other groups and disciplines
