Roles & Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Provides day-to-day internal communications support to ensure Associates are informed, engaged and supported, and develops internal communications plans using multimedia tactics
  • Creates clear content with internal subject matter experts (e.g., digital communications, support packages, documents, PowerPoint presentations, speaking notes) and manages the flow and timing of information to various audiences
  • Coordinates calendars and manages internal communications for assigned departments, oversees mass communications, responds to requests within two business days, triages responses to the appropriate SME, and administers Associate email groupings and SharePoint (GoodLife Pulse)
  • Supports meetings and events by producing and editing content (speaking notes, PowerPoints, videos), creating production documents and dry runs, and ensuring content is up-to-date and ready for large-scale sessions

Who is an Internal Communications Specialist?

The Internal Communications Specialist works with Project Managers, Administrators and Department Heads to execute communications that support day-to-day operations, policies, procedures and marketing needs. The Specialist provides timely, customized communications support to Management and project stakeholders, assisting with clear and effective messaging to ensure Associates across the company are informed and engaged. The Specialist works closely with all members of the Internal Communications Team to ensure consistency and alignment of communications across the company.

What will you be doing?

  • Provides communications support for day-to-day operations and normal course of business, to ensure Associates are informed, engaged and supported in their roles.
  • Creates internal communications plans using a variety of multimedia tactics.
  • Generates clear and concise content, working closely with internal subject matter experts, ranging from digital Associate communications, support packages and documents, PowerPoint presentations, speaking notes, etc.
  • Ensures proper flow and timing of information to various Associate audiences.
  • Refers to the company calendar and activates required communications based on day-to-day and normal course of business activities (e.g., stat holidays, important internal dates)
  • Supports all internal communications of their assigned Department portfolio to ensure Associates have the information they need before Members and the public. 
  • Creates promotional communication materials, including production of video work.
  • Facilitates the compilation of communications packages, utilizing the expertise of various Department subject matter experts.
  • Oversees the timely and efficient delivery of mass internal communications.
  • Responds and actions all requests within two weekdays of receipt.
  • Triages Associate responses to the appropriate Department/subject matter expert.
  • Manages and updates Associate email groupings with support from our Technology & Information Department.
  • Delivers support for the production and execution of regularly scheduled and special Associate meetings and events.
  • Creates and communicates production documents that clearly and outline “flow of show” and help talent feel prepared.
  • Facilitates “dry runs” for large-scale meetings and events.
  • Composes and/or edits all meeting and event content (speaking notes, PowerPoints, videos, etc.).
  • Administers the company’s SharePoint (GoodLife Pulse), ensuring content is consistently up-to-date and refreshed.

  • Diploma in English, Communications, Marketing, PR or related field, or work-related experience
  • 2 years in a communications role, or related field
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks based on relative importance and urgency
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Highly developed follow-up skills
  • Agile, with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Compensation:

It is expected that the selected candidate will start at a base salary of $56,000. This position is eligible for bonuses in addition to the base salary. The annual range of expected compensation for the position is $56,000 - $72,000 determined by performance, time in the position and variable compensation earned.
