What you'll do...

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089

Duties: Assesses gaps/updates/modifications between the customer/business expectations and the existing product/solutions (in case of agile methodology, for the iteration). Classifies the requirements into applicable types. Anticipates the solution risks/issues during requirements gathering phase, inform relevant stakeholders and recommend corrective steps. Contribute to the creation of user stories for component/application/complex (For agile methodology). Assists in design of solutions such that the processes/applications work in tandem for specific components/modules of a product. Evaluates trade-offs while designing a component based on the business requirements. Assists in conversion of HD (High Level Design) to create detailed design using mock screens, pseudo codes and detailed functional logic of the modules for specific modules/components of a product. Creates/configures minimalistic code for entire component/application and ensures the components are meeting business/technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability and high-scalability needs. Assists in the selection of appropriate languages, development standards and tools for software coding/configuration. Takes initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work. Builds scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), Testing or any other process (as applicable). Implements telemetry features as required independently. Ensures security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration. Maps the customer requirements in to test objectives. Identifies and creates test cases for the component/module. Executes test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component. Executes different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs. Tracks and analyzes defects for the component/ module and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes. Analyzes defects from past projects/solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects. Troubleshoots performance and availability bottlenecks for the application. Conducts complex maintenance procedures for applications independently. Monitors and evaluates the performance of the application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics; Performs maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities. Analyzes application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and provide analysis. Evaluates change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible. Ensures adherence to the project against approved milestones and timelines.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.

Skills required: Experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, framework, tools, systems and services using Object oriented programming and design using Java, Scala, Python, and Bash. Experience building and deploying applications using container technology. Experience building simple and efficient solution on top of distributed databases, pub-sub messaging systems including Cassandra, Kafka, Solr, SQL S3, Elasticsearch, and RabbitMQ. Experience analyzing distributed application logs, application metrics, insights, heap dumps to improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources. Experience designing and implementing APIS using REST and RPC architecture. Experience working with dependency injection frameworks including Spring and Spring Boot. Experience mentoring junior engineers by performing thorough code reviews, participating in design review to help them deliver high-quality projects. Experience implementing high performance data movements systems to move data from one large scale systems to analytical processing systems for faster query access using Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, and BigQuery. Experience working with CI/CD systems Jenkins, Git, and Grafana. Experience working with NoSQL databases including Cassandra, BigQuery, and Elasticsearch. Experience using build systems including Ant and Maven. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
