  • Architectural Leadership: design fault-tolerant, globally distributed systems; define REST vs GraphQL standards; lead microservices design and provide cross-team mentorship.
  • Core Execution: expert-level Java and proficient Python for high-performance, asynchronous services; polyglot persistence (SQL/NoSQL/Vector DBs) with sharding and consistency; cloud-native with AWS/GCP/Azure and Kubernetes.
  • Data & AI Innovation: design petabyte-scale data pipelines (Spark, Kafka, Airflow) and production-ready RAG pipelines and autonomous AI workflows.
  • Operational Excellence: establish CI/CD velocity and advanced observability to preempt systemic failures.

  • Code, unit test, and build high-performance, scalable applications for millions of Walmart-International customers in supply chain management and customer experience.
  • Own the blueprint for fault-tolerant, globally distributed systems; define standards for REST vs GraphQL and lead microservices design; mentor teams on long-term maintainability.
  • Collaborate with Walmart Global Tech and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable software solutions and ensure reliability in cloud-native environments.
  • Implement CI/CD practices and advanced observability to enable safe, frequent deployments and proactive system health monitoring.

What you'll do...

Job Description Summary:

Responsible for coding, unit testing, building high performance and scalable applications that meet the needs of millions of Walmart-International customers, in the areas of supply chain management & Customer experience.

About Team:

Our team collaborates with Walmart International, which has over 5,900 retail units operating outside of the United States under 55 banners in 26 countries including Africa, Argentina, Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Japan, and Mexico, to name a few.

What you'll do:

  • You are responsible for coding, unit testing, building high performance and scalable applications that meet the needs of millions of Walmart-International customers, in the areas of supply chain management & Customer experience.
  • You are expected to be more intellectually curious engineer who is passionate about domain/technology in general. 

What you'll bring:

  • 10+ years experience in Software Development with the below qualifications 1. Architectural Leadership (HLD/LLD, Scalability)
  • System Design: Own the blueprint for fault-tolerant, globally distributed systems.
  • Design Authority: Define the standards for REST vs. GraphQL and lead the design of microservices.
  • Mentorship: Review LLDs across multiple teams to ensure long-term maintainability.

2. Core Execution (Java, Python, DB, Cloud)

  • Polyglot Mastery: Expert-level Java and intermediate Python for high-performance, asynchronous services.
  • Data Strategy: Architecting polyglot persistence (SQL, NoSQL, Vector DBs) with deep knowledge of sharding and consistency models.
  • Cloud Native: Mastery of AWS/GCP/Azure and Kubernetes to automate scaling and reliability.

3. Data & AI Innovation (Big Data, LLM, RAG)

  • Big Data/ETL: Designing petabyte-scale pipelines using Spark, Kafka, and Airflow.
  • AI Integration: Building production-ready RAG pipelines and Agentic AI workflows (LangGraph, CrewAI) that go beyond simple chat prompts to autonomous tool-use.

4. Operational Excellence (CI/CD)

  • Velocity: Experience on CI/CD ecosystems to deploy safely and frequently.
  • Observability: Implementing advanced monitoring to preemptively catch systemic failures.
