Requirements:

  • Understand business, stakeholder, and technical requirements; analyze existing software solutions; prepare requirement traceability matrix and maintain traceability between business requirements, design, and test cases.
  • Create and configure software components and applications to meet functional, non-functional, and security requirements; contribute to user stories; select appropriate languages and development standards; build automation scripts for CI/CD.
  • Implement telemetry features; execute various testing, track and analyze defects, perform regression testing, and ensure testing coverage with tools as needed.
  • Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks; perform maintenance; monitor logs and metrics; evaluate change requests and support Kubernetes/cloud deployments.

What you'll do...

Position: Software Engineer III

Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089

Duties: Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of software engineering plans; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Understand the business, stakeholder, and technical requirements and assist in analyzing the existing software solutions to address the needs. Prepare requirement traceability matrix and maintain traceability between business requirements, functional requirements, design and test cases. Contribute to the creation of user stories for components, modules, and simple requirements. Create and configure minimalistic code for entire software components and applications and ensure the software components meet business and technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability, and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages and software development standards and tools. Take the initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work. Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), testing, or any other process. Implement telemetry features as required independently. Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration. Map the customer requirements into test objectives. Identify and create test cases for the components and modules. Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component. Execute different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs. Track and analyze defects for the components and modules and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes. Analyze defects from past software engineering solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application. Conduct complex maintenance procedures for software applications independently. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the software application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics. Perform maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities. Analyze software application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and analysis. Evaluate software change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or a related area. 

Skills required: Experience designing and implementing REST APIs using JAVA. Experience with NoSQL databases. Experience building Asynchronous Data Pipelines using IBM MQ and Kafka. Experience using Prometheus to build and alert on critical metrics for monitoring. Experience coding in an object oriented programming language. Experience designing and testing Relational Database Management Systems including MySQL and DB2. Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable and maintainable microservices using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Docker. Experience using Swagger for API documentation. Experience working on Spring framework. Experience with data extraction and processing using JDBC, Hibernate, and Spring Data. Experience using a search index. Experience with Kubernetes for scalable cloud deployments. Experience working on Grafana for custom dashboards and visualization of metrics. Experience with Test-Driven Development using Junit and Mockito. Experience working on Version Control tools including GIT. Experience building continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines using Jenkins and Maven. Experience using Splunk for searching, monitoring, and analyzing logs. Experience using OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication and authorization across microservices. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
