Role summary:
The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery of scoped features and software components through collaborative teams, ensuring alignment with platform and business objectives. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions using multiple programming languages and modern development practices. The position requires strong technical judgment, continuous improvement, and effective communication with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable, maintainable systems. The engineer will also integrate AI/ML capabilities, support DevOps processes, and mentor peers to drive innovation and operational excellence within Walmart’s technology environment.

Our team delivers critical screening and compliance solutions that support Walmart Marketplace’s growth by enabling legitimate sellers and preventing fraudulent activities. We focus on building reliable, scalable software that safeguards the platform and its users. Emphasizing collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement, the team integrates advanced technologies, including AI, to enhance system capabilities. Members engage in full lifecycle development—from design through deployment—ensuring high-quality results aligned with business objectives. This environment encourages innovation, accountability, and the delivery of impactful solutions that protect and advance the business.
  What you'll do:

What you'll bring:
  • Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and C++.
  • Strong expertise in object-oriented programming, code review, debugging, and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Proven ability to deliver scoped features and models through iterative development and continuous integration/deployment.
  • Demonstrated skills in AI/ML integration and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development efficiency.
  • Solid understanding of platform design, product strategy, and technical solution design aligned with business objectives.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and technical ownership.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
