Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and active Pharmacist license.
  • 3-5 years of related pharmacy experience.
  • Knowledge of drug information, disease state management, and legal requirements of pharmacy practice, with understanding of insurance adjudication processes.
  • Working knowledge of inventory processes and proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint/Access).

Requirements:

  • Oversee operation and quality assurance of specialty pharmacy services to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing.
  • Conduct clinical assessments/reassessments, document interventions per protocol, and perform chronic disease state management and medication compliance monitoring with patient consultations and provider communications.
  • Dispense prescribed medications, review prescriptions for accuracy, supervise packaging/labeling, and advise on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.
  • Maintain QA procedures and compliance including security of controlled substances, disposal of hazardous waste drugs, and accurate data entry for patient files, billing, and inventory.

Responsible for the operation and quality assurance of the services provided through the specialty pharmacy. Ensures the correct medications are dispensed to the correct patients in the most efficient and safe manner. Medication compliance monitoring, chronic disease state management, patient consultation, and provider communications are a part of daily tasks. This position is a part of the interdisciplinary team that includes clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technician technicians and delivery personnel.

Job Description:

Required Qualifications:

1. Performs quality assurance of prescriptions and medications to dispense.


2. Performs clinical assessments and reassessments and performs and documents clinical interventions  per protocol.


3. Dispenses prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care: reviews prescriptions issued by physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy; directs pharmacy personnel engaged in packaging, and labeling of pharmaceuticals; answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.

4. Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.

5. Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain accurate/up to date pharmacy files, billing, and inventory.


Required Qualifications:


1.Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required.
2.  License Pharmacist required.
3. 3-5 years related work experience required.
4. Possesses knowledge in drug information, disease state management, and legal requirements of pharmacy practices.
5. Understanding of insurance and adjudication processes.
6. Working knowledge of inventory processes.
7. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications.  May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.


Preferred Qualifications:


1. Experience in specialty pharmacy.
2. Board of Pharmacy Specialty Certification.
3. Experience with the 340B drug program and PGY training

 

 

Pay Range:

$120,640.00 USD - $153,001.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
