Role Title
Director, Annuity Pricing
Purpose of role
This role is responsible for leading the pricing, product development support, and profitability management of the company’s annuity product portfolio. This role provides strategic direction on pricing assumptions, product design, risk management, and capital optimization while ensuring alignment with corporate financial objectives and regulatory requirements. This role is also responsible for managing the relationship with reinsurers as it relates to annuities.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for annuity pricing model validation, documentation, and model governance process
- Ensure compliance with actuarial standards of practice and internal controls
- Present pricing recommendations to senior leadership and product committees
- Manage reinsurance RFPs and ensure that we are compliant with the terms of the reinsurance treaty on an ongoing basis
- Set best estimate assumptions for mortality, lapse, utilization, expenses, and investment returns
- Assess capital impacts under statutory and RBC frameworks
- Support asset-liability management and reinsurance optimization
- Lead a team of pricing actuaries and analysts as the annuity business grows
Key Qualifications
- Education (minimum required): Bachelor of Actuarial Science or Mathematics or equivalent
- Experience (minimum required): Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
- Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) designation
- 10+ years of actuarial experience with significant experience in annuity pricing
- Advanced proficiency in actuarial modeling tools (e.g. MG-ALFA, AXIS, or similar)
- Deep knowledge of fixed and fixed indexed annuity products
- Familiarity with hedging programs for fixed indexed annuities

Salary Range:
The actual base salary for this position will depend on several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in a discretionary variable incentive plan, results are subject to both individual and company performance.
