Job Summary:

Own the Strategy Behind Every Solution

The Solution Consultant role at Granicus is a strategic position designed for professionals who thrive at the intersection of business problem-solving, technical storytelling, and cross-functional execution. This is where public sector challenges meet transformative solutions—and you are the one connecting the dots.

As a Solution Consultant, you’ll own discovery and solution design for opportunities. You will guide government stakeholders through structured exploration of needs, and craft solution strategies that map to Granicus products, implementation realities, and agency mission priorities. You’ll partner with Revenue, Solution Architect, Product, and Professional Services teams to design and deliver solution recommendations that influence outcomes and set the tone for long-term partnerships. In this role, you’ll support active revenue opportunities through discovery, solution design, and executivelevel solution presentations.

Granicus SCs are not generic demo specialists. They’re mission translators. They don’t just describe features—they build confidence in transformation. If you’re looking to level up from supporting demos to shaping strategic opportunities, this is the path forward.

About Our Team

We are a collaborative, mission-driven group of presales professionals who are driven by purpose, guided by curiosity, and committed to continuous improvement. We believe in the power of technology to improve lives. We partner closely with Revenue, Product, and Marketing to connect government agencies with solutions that create measurable impact. Our team values humility, creativity, and mutual support—and we celebrate small wins as much as major milestones.

You’ll be joining a supportive environment where questions are encouraged, mistakes are part of learning, and continuous growth is the expectation.

How We Show Up to Work

We approach every engagement with empathy, professionalism, and a deep respect for the complexity of public sector work. We show up prepared, curious, and ready to help—whether we’re collaborating with a teammate, leading discovery, or presenting a solution strategy. We believe how we show up matters just as much as what we deliver.

We trust each other, give feedback generously, and strive to model integrity and thoughtfulness in everything we do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own discovery and solution design for opportunities across government verticals

  • Partner with Revenue teams to shape opportunity flow—including qualification, stakeholder coverage, and solution alignment

  • Facilitate structured pre-sales discovery sessions with government stakeholders to uncover desired outcomessuccess metrics, blockers, context, and buying criteria

  • Design and deliver valuebased solution presentations aligned to agencies’ mission and functional outcomes

  • Translate customer needs into compelling, actionable solution narratives that reflect agency executive priorities and economic value

  • Work cross-functionally with Architects, Product, and Services to validate solution approaches and flag risks early

  • Contribute to internal frameworks, configuration playbooks, and reusable content based on live deal experience

  • Share insights from discovery and solutioning that inform messaging, product direction, or field enablement

This role is not focused on:

  • Post-sale implementation or delivery ownership

  • Configuration heavy or developer led consulting

  • Longterm customer support or managed services

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in a presales role (Solutions Consultant, Sales Engineer, or equivalent)

  • GovTech Experience Preferred - Experience supporting state, local, or federal government sales cycles

  • Experience supporting netnew and expansion SaaS sales

  • Proven ability to lead discovery, solution presentations, and demos, and contribute to solution positioning in complex buying environments

  • Evidence of value engineering – Successful use of supporting materials like ROI/Cost of Inaction statements, financial implications of achieving or not achieving targeted success metrics, economic business cases

  • Clear, effective written and verbal communication skills across both technical and business stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to develop structured solution designs using templates, visuals, and narratives

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and collaborative solutioning environments

  • A consultative, customer-first mindset and deep interest in public sector modernization

How Success Is Measured

  • Owns solution design and discovery across all assigned opportunities

  • Produces clear, aligned solution design documentation that supports seamless deal and account strategy and execution

  • Regularly receives positive feedback from Revenue teams, including sellers and leaders, and SC leaders, on value and strategic contribution

  • Contributes to internal improvement—templates, tools, retrospectives, or enablement—based on field experience

  • Consistently demonstrates initiative, reliability, and cross-functional collaboration that elevate team performance
