Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP ERP Senior Consultant to support Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR/FPI), a division of the U.S. Department of Justice. In this role, you will provide senior-level expertise in the configuration, operation, and optimization of FPI's SAP ERP system. You will work closely with functional and technical teams, provide knowledge transfer to junior staff, and support ongoing SAP S/4 HANA upgrades and system enhancements.

This is a primarily remote position with occasional travel to BOP/FPI facilities as needed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level SAP configuration expertise across modules including Production Planning (PP), Sales & Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Payroll, and General Ledger (GL)
  • Lead project management efforts, coordinating functional and technical team members across assigned projects
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the SAP ERP system, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
  • Support SAP S/4 HANA upgrades, support pack updates, and version migrations, including testing and validation
  • Assist with configuration and integration of third-party software interfaces
  • Provide expertise in US Treasury G-Invoicing and SAP API integration
  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency
  • Deliver knowledge transfer and informal training to FPI junior-level and new staff
  • Track actual costs against budgeted amounts for contract delivery and task orders
  • Assist key end users and technical personnel in developing and configuring the ERP system in line with FPI requirements
  • Submit weekly status reports to the Chief of the ERP Branch
  • Ensure all work complies with SDLC, FISMA, and DOJ information security standards

  • 2+ years of experience with SAP ERP configuration, including third-party software integration

  • 2+ years of project management experience coordinating functional and technical teams
  • 2+ years of experience providing training and knowledge transfer to junior staff
  • 2+ years of experience providing system performance recommendations
  • 1+ year of experience with US Treasury G-Invoicing and SAP API integration
  • 1+ year of experience supporting SAP S/4 HANA upgrades (support packs or version updates)
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience and certifications
