About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated intern to support Zayo’s Long Haul Site Acquisition team. This role provides hands-on exposure to real estate transactions, contract administration, and permitting tied to critical network infrastructure projects across the U.S.
The intern will support land acquisition, lease execution, and construction readiness for ILA (Intermediate Line Amplifier) sites, gaining visibility into the full lifecycle of infrastructure deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with contract administration for land leases and property purchases, including tracking status, documentation, and execution workflows
Help facilitate contract execution, including:
Coordinating signatures
Supporting recording and closing processes
Assist with permitting activities for ILA construction, including:
Preparing and submitting permit applications
Tracking approval status and timelines
Coordinating with local jurisdictions and internal teams to resolve issues
Maintain and update weekly reporting for site acquisition and real estate activities
Assist with purchase requests and financial tracking related to real estate transactions
Coordinate with internal stakeholders (legal, finance, engineering, construction) to ensure timely progress on projects
Provide support for GIS mapping and data organization efforts, as needed, related to property boundaries and infrastructure layouts
Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Real Estate, GIS, Geography, Engineering, or related field
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
Interest in real estate, telecom infrastructure, or permitting processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS) is a plus but not required
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and coordination skills
Exposure to real-world telecom infrastructure development
Experience with real estate transactions and contract lifecycle management
Direct involvement in permitting and construction readiness processes
Opportunity to work cross-functionally with engineering, legal, finance, and construction teams
Exposure to GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.)
Interest in infrastructure, fiber networks, or large-scale development projects
Estimated base pay range for this role: $23.00-$25.00 USD/hour.
The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance and 401(k).
