  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No minimum experience required.
  • Certifications required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H.
  • AHIMA-accredited coding certificate program preferred; remote coding experience and multi-facility experience a plus.

Requirements:

  • Reviews, analyzes, and assigns codes based on appropriate coding guidelines and criteria for outpatient medical record documentation to include medical, diagnostic, and procedural information for ICD-10-CM and CPT-4/HCPCS codes.
  • Primary coding responsibility is Diagnostic/Clinical, Emergency Room, Recurring, and Specimen patient types.
  • Ensure adherence to coding guidelines and documentation criteria to support accurate coding.
  • Remote/work-from-home position; perform coding tasks in a work-from-home setup for a multi-facility organization.

information for the correct ICD-10-CM and /or CPT-4 HCPCS codes.
Primary coding responsibility is Diagnostic/Clinical, Emergency Room, Recurring and Specimen patient
types.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
One or more certifications required - RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H.
Coding experience preferred.
Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) preferred.
Experience in coding at a multi-facility organization and remote coding experience is a plus.
