Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with Secret Clearance to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and services, ensuring they meet the operational and security needs of our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and a deep understanding of security best practices. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical projects for both government and private sector clients.

Responsibilities:
- Cloud Architecture: Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions based on client requirements, industry best practices, and security guidelines
- Security & Compliance: Ensure cloud environments adhere to security standards, including encryption, identity management, and access control, in compliance with government and regulatory policies
- Automation & Optimization: Develop automated workflows and scripts to streamline cloud operations. Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency and performance
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, network engineers, and security professionals to integrate cloud solutions seamlessly into existing infrastructures
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for cloud-based systems, resolving issues quickly and efficiently
- Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain documentation related to cloud architecture, processes, and security measures. Regularly report on cloud performance, incidents, and improvements
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies and cybersecurity practices
Basic Qualifications
- Clearance: Must hold a current, active Secret Clearance.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering and administration
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
- Strong understanding of cloud security practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes)
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency with Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments
- Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Familiarity with networking protocols and firewall management in a cloud environment
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
