This position is based on site in ROCKFORD, IL

Hiring Requirements

The client is in a controlled goods program environment and must comply with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which mandates that all applicants be U.S. Citizens (preferred) or Permanent Residents

Sr. Network Technician

Works issues related to the support, and operation of specialized components of a network, such as Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wireless LANs (WLANs) systems. Configures, maintain network infrastructure such as switches, wireless controllers, and access points.
 

Essential Job Functions

  • Supports the maintenance of network hardware and systems.
  • Runs testing routines or scripts provided by engineering staff.
  • Maintains LAN and WLAN Systems in accordance with specified requirements, including appropriate documentation and asset management
  • Participates in network team efforts to ensure DXC meets client needs.
  • May include after-hours maintenance and on-call support.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1-3+ years of experience in network IMACD activities (Hands-On)
  • Cisco Systems familiarity
  • - Switching (switching layer 2 and 3)
  • - Wireless
  • Understanding of TCP/IP Protocol
  • Knowledge of industrial networking an asset
  • ServiceNow or similar ticketing system experience preferred
    • Task management
    • Change management
    • Problem management
  • Experience working with network systems, networking principles
  • Experience working with network software and hardware
     

Other Qualifications

  • Skilled in time, priority, and task management
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good problem-solving skills for IMACD of network infrastructure

Work Location - on site daily; not a remote role

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $45,900 - $85,300.
