Key Responsibilities
Origination & Founder Relationships
Proactively identify and engage vertical market software businesses that align with Volaris’ acquisition criteria
Build long‑term, trust‑based relationships with founders, CEOs, and shareholders
Represent Volaris’ buy‑and‑hold forever philosophy, decentralized operating model, and long‑term value creation approach
Participate in industry conferences and targeted outreach to develop proprietary deal flow
Pipeline Ownership & Opportunity Development
Own and manage a pipeline of potential acquisitions from first contact through deal team handoff
Conduct high‑level assessments of businesses (market position, revenue profile, customer base, management intent)
Maintain disciplined tracking of activity and opportunities using CRM tools (Salesforce)
Provide regular visibility to M&A leadership on pipeline health, sourcing activity, and market insights
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with M&A execution teams, Finance, Legal, HR, and Tax as opportunities progress
Support preparation of screening summaries and early‑stage materials for internal review
Share market intelligence and founder feedback to inform portfolio‑level acquisition strategy
Manager‑Level Contribution
Contribute to the evolution of sourcing strategy within the JEV Portfolio
Coach and mentor junior M&A or Business Development team members, where applicable
Act as a thought partner to Portfolio and M&A leadership on market trends and sourcing effectiveness
What We’re Looking For
5–8+ years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or relationship‑driven B2B business development
Demonstrated ability to source and develop founder‑led opportunities
Strong commercial judgment and comfort evaluating businesses at a high level
Confident engaging with senior executives and business owners
Comfortable operating independently in a decentralized environment
Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA is an asset
