Requirements:

  • Leads and mentors a team of IT/Application Svcs Analysts and IT/Sr Application Svcs Analysts; distributes work and conducts weekly application meetings, providing status reports to managers.
  • Designs, leads, and implements highly complex solutions using a variety of technologies; evaluates, designs, builds, tests, resolves issues with Epic and associated third-party applications.
  • Resolves complex problems across functional groups; exercises independent judgment to develop processes and success factors; ensures all aspects of the team's applications are completed.
  • Delivers a secure, integrated patient care delivery system that improves outcomes, reduces costs, increases efficiency, and enhances patient experiences.

Job description

Responsibilities:

Job Summary: 

  • Leads and mentors a team of less-experienced IT/Application Svcs Analysts (JC: 451702) and IT/Sr Application Svcs Analysts (JC: 451802).
  • Designs, leads, and implements highly complex solutions using a variety of technologies in a supportable and scalable manner.
  • Responsible for evaluating, designing, building, testing, resolving issues with, and maintaining Epic and associated third party applications.
  • Resolves complex problems that may involve various groups across functional lines.
  • Exercises independent judgment in developing processes, techniques, and success factors.
  • Ensures all aspects of the work for the team’s application(s) are completed.
  • Works with a team to distribute work.
  • Holds weekly application meetings, provides status reports to managers, and helps provide team unity and direction.
  • Works along with team members and performs IT/Sr Application Svcs Analyst and IT/Application Svcs Analyst duties.
  • Provides a secure, effective, integrated patient care delivery system that continually improves outcomes, reduces cost, increases efficiency, and enhances patients’ experiences.

Qualifications:

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, IT management, software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems, applied engineering, health information management (HIM), health informatics, nursing informatics, nursing, health science, education, business administration, health care, or a related field
  • Human Resources (HR) may accept directly related work experience on a 1-year:1-year basis for required education. [NOTE: Experience credited in lieu of formal education will not be credited toward the minimum experience requirement below (i.e., the same experience will not be counted twice).]

Required Experience: 

  • Six (6) years of directly related professional experience

Other Qualifications: Good communication skills (critical).  Problem solving skills (critical)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Eight or more (8+) years of job-related experience.  
  • Experience supporting and configuring Epic applications.  
  • Experience on several projects in all stages of the development life cycle.  
  • Experience applying best design practices in accordance with the patterns and principles in their modeling. 
  • Experience in software development.  
  • Project implementation and conversion experience.  
  • Process flow collection and documentation experience.  
  • Expert knowledge of relational logical and physical data modeling.  
  • Familiarity with multiple Epic application workflows and how they interconnect.  
  • Familiarity with best design practices, and patterns and principles in their modeling.  
  • Familiarity with software development.  Knowledge of Epic’s data model.  
  • Good interpersonal skills.  
  • Good presentation skills.  
  • Good writing skills.   
  • Ability to query the Epic database.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

  • Related Epic certification(s) required. Multiple certifications may be required depending on functional area and job responsibilities. Required certification(s) must be obtained within ninety (90) days from last class completion. If a required certification is not obtained after three (3) examination attempts, the incumbent has a period of thirty (30) days after the last examination attempt to apply for other job opportunities within the organization. If unable to acquire another position within the organization, the incumbent’s employment with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Inc. (TMH) ends.
