Our client is a performance marketing agency focused on helping direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands scale customer acquisition through data-driven advertising strategies. The team specializes in building and optimizing high-performing digital campaigns, leveraging paid media, creative testing, and conversion-focused funnels to drive measurable growth for eCommerce brands. With a strong focus on performance and experimentation, the agency partners closely with clients to improve marketing efficiency, increase conversions, and support sustainable revenue growth.

About the Role:

We are looking for a results-driven Director of Performance Marketing to lead the marketing performance function in a fast-paced eCommerce environment. This is a senior leadership role focused on team management, operational excellence, and driving measurable growth. The Director will oversee performance marketing initiatives across North American markets, build scalable processes, and ensure all campaigns have clear KPIs and accountability. The mission of the role is to build and lead a high-performing team to support the company’s expansion and long-term growth in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Building & Leadership
    • Manage recruiting agencies to identify and hire top-tier talent.
    • Build and manage a team of Funnel-, CRM- & marketing managers as well as Media Buyers providing 7-day-a-week coverage across European and North American time zones.
    • Establish team structure, roles, and responsibilities for optimal funnel oversight and performance.
    • Develop comprehensive training programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Foster a high-performance, accountability-focused culture driven by measurable results and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Marketing Operations
    • Own P&L responsibility for all campaigns, ensuring profitability and ROI.
    • Develop and execute strategies to optimize funnel performance, conversion rates, and customer lifetime value.
    • Manage relationships and performance of external affiliate partners.
    • Oversee funnel optimization, A/B testing, and data-driven conversion improvement initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration (from your team)
    • Partner with our CRM team to optimize the customer journey and data flow to optimize routing and reduce transaction friction.
    • Work with developers to implement tracking, landing pages, and funnel enhancements.
    • Collaborate with graphic designers to produce high-converting creative assets.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution
    • Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with company objectives.
    • Establish KPIs, reporting frameworks, and performance monitoring systems to track and drive results.
    • Manage marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of capital.
    • Stay ahead of industry trends, platform updates, and competitor moves to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in performance marketing, including 3+ years leading teams in a senior management role.
  • Proven success running performance marketing for high-volume DTC businesses (e.g., supplements, consumer goods) or industries such as Forex/Crypto with 1,000+ daily orders.
  • Strong team-building experience, including hiring, training, and managing 6–10+ funnel managers or media buyers in a KPI-driven environment.
  • Deep understanding of high-growth eCommerce operations, including always-on campaigns and scalable acquisition strategies.
  • Data-driven leadership, with the ability to interpret performance metrics and guide teams toward continuous optimization and growth.
  • Strong operational and communication skills, with experience building processes, driving accountability, and aligning teams around clear performance goals in fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with AI tools (especially Claude)
  • Advanced English Level

Benefits

  • 💼 Full-Time Position: M–F 8:00 am - 5:00pm EST
  • 💵 Salary: $5,000/month USD
  • 🏠 2 weeks PTO plus U.S. federal holidays
  • 📄 Contract: Independent Contractor
