Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, psychology, social work or related field from a four-year university
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in programs offering child and family services, home visiting, parent education, family support or referral services
  • Valid driver's license with state-required auto insurance and ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Ability to work varied hours (including nights and weekends) and work with minimal supervision

  • Visits client homes to determine underlying needs and provides in-home rehabilitation and support services for children and families
  • Monitors the well-being and safety of children; collaborates with clinical staff to manage and resolve crisis situations involving children and parents
  • Assists families to access resources to manage the child and family plan of care; provides direct interventions services
  • Develops and maintains a resource guide/directory for community programs and resources that could benefit the growth of children and families

Initiates and develops relationship-building opportunities designed to prevent out of home placements and prompts reunification and permanency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Visits client homes to determine underlying needs and provides in-home rehabilitation and support services for children and families.

  • Monitors the well-being and safety of children.

  • Collaborates with clinical staff to manage and resolve crisis situations involving children and parents.

  • Assists families to access resources to manage the child and family plan of care.

  • Provides direct interventions services.

  • Assists Facilitator in assessing strengths, skills and needs from the child’s perceptive.

  • Assists in identifying and accessing traditional and non-traditional individualized strength-based services.

  • Ensures services provided to families comply with DMH and DCFS contract and are promptly documented.

  • Complies with productivity standards and maintains an appropriate caseload to reach the weekly expectation of the client contact and billable hours.

  • Develops and maintains a resource guide/directory for community programs and/or resources that could benefit the growth of children and families

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 6 months experience in programs offering child and family services, home visiting services, parent education, family support and referral services, or similar.

  • Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, psychology, social work or related field from a four-year university required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work varied hours, including nights and weekends.

  • Possesses a valid driver's license and state-required auto insurance.

  • Required to travel extensively to sites (> 50% of the time).

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Spanish/ English bilingual preferred.

  • Ability to handle confidential information. 

  • Maintains patient privacy, including protecting the confidentiality, safeguarding the integrity and availability, and limiting the use and disclosure of patient Protected Health Information (PHI) to authorized individuals and entities.

  • Participates in, conducts, and sustains performance quality improvement activities according to designated role and responsibilities.

  • Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Punctual and dependable attendance

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • None required.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Must have intermediate knowledge of programs in a Windows environment

  • Payroll systems

  • Other software as needed

VISION REQUIREMENTS

  • No special vision requirements.

COMPENSATION:

$26.75 USD - $32.10 USD

In accordance with California law, the expected pay range for this position is included in this posting.  The actual compensation will be determined based on factors permitted by law. New hires will be offered a salary at the starting point of the range to maintain internal inequity and allow opportunity for future salary growth. CII salaries are determined based on comprehensive internal and external market analysis, as well as the skills, education, and experience relevant to each position.
