Grants Operations Coordinator - Pediatrics

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum education).
  • At least 4 years of experience in grants management, contracts, or research administration.
  • Knowledge of economics, accounting, mathematics, administration, English language, law, government, and human resources.
  • Strong problem solving, time management, writing and active listening, and analytical skills; ability to coordinate work activities and perform systems analysis.

Requirements:

  • Assist administrative staff and research teams in the creation, negotiation, and administration of grants, contracts, and research proposals.
  • Assist with pre-award applications and coordinate the grant process from development and submission to post-award.
  • Ensure compliance with sponsor terms, MCW policies/procedures, and federal regulations; identify funding sources and administer grant budgets.
  • Provide guidance and support to investigators in identifying and developing grant opportunities and ensuring grant guidelines, budgets, and stipulations are met.

Job description

Summary 

Coordinates the pre-award planning, organization, and preparation, and the post-award administration of various grants assigned to one or more research and/or clinical departments. Interacts with investigators and administrative staff to ensure that grants are in compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and policy requirements. Provides guidance and support to investigators in the identification and development of grant opportunities. 

 

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Assists administrative staff and research team in the creation, negotiation, and administration of grants, contracts, and research proposals. 

  • Assists with pre-award applications. 

  • Coordinates the grant process from development and submission to the post-award stage. 

  • Ensures compliance with sponsor terms, MCW policies/procedures, and federal regulations. 

  • Identifies funding sources and administers grant budgets. 

  • May consolidate sources of information to ensure application document requirements are complete. 

  • Ensures compliance with grant guidelines, budgets, and stipulations. 

  • Identifies funding sources and administers grant budgets. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities 

  • Knowledge of economics, accounting, mathematics, administration, English language, law, government, and human resources.  

  • Work requires resource management, mathematics, problem solving, coordinating work activities, critical thinking, systems analysis, operations analysis, time management, writing, active listening, and active learning skills.  

  • Speech clarity, speech recognition, finger dexterity, and wrist-finger speed while operating computers abilities required 

 

Qualifications 

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

 

Minimum Required Education:       Bachelor’s degree 

Minimum Required Experience:      4 years of experience 

 

Physical Requirements 

Work requires occasionally lifting moderate weight materials, standing, or walking continuously. 

Work Environment 

Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment. 

 

Sensory Acuity 

Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
