Roles & Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Oversee environmental project management, including coordination of field surveys, permitting with federal, state, and local agencies, and preparation/review of project reports and materials (including NEPA and state documentation as applicable)
  • Lead and mentor project teams, manage project scheduling and budgets, and support business development and client engagement
  • Manage environmental compliance projects (air quality, hazardous waste, stormwater, site remediation) and ensure regulatory interpretation and compliance strategy
  • Travel as needed to support fieldwork, client engagement, conference attendance, and training opportunities

Description

Lakota Federal is adding an Environmental Project Manager to their team. The Project Management role requires exceptional leadership skills and professional judgment to oversee environmental project management, advance business development, serve clients, and continue building a high performing and engaged team. The Project Manager will coordinate with project teams on a variety of tasks, including completion of field surveys, environmental permitting with federal, state, and local agencies, and preparation/review of necessary project reports and materials. Additional duties may include preparing studies, evaluations, NEPA and state documentation for all types and sizes of environmental projects, as well as environmental compliance projects to include air quality, hazardous waste, storm water, and site remediation.  This remote role is a work from home position that will require travel to support field work, client engagement, conference attendance, and training opportunities.  

Requirements
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen 
  • Candidate must have a master's degree in a field related to the environmental services including biology, planning, environmental regulatory compliance, or related environmental and planning disciplines.  
  • Candidate must have a minimum of ten (10) years of cumulative experience in environmental or natural resource management, including oversight of fieldwork and report preparation, supervision and mentoring of professional and administrative staff, and project scheduling and budgeting.  
  • Candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience, including supervising and providing guidance to other professionals.  
  • Candidate must be active Certified Hazardous Materials Manager 
  • Candidate must have 40-Hour HAZWOPER 
  • Candidate must be ISO 14001 Auditor Certified 
  • Candidate must be an active Certified Asbestos Inspector

  • Strong understanding of financial metrics, business planning, and plan execution. 
  • Strong regulatory interpretation and compliance strategy experience. 
  • Experience preparing environmental reports, plans, and sampling programs. 

 

Work Environment 

Office environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%). Occasional business travel may be required. Only requested and approved expenses will be covered by LKF. 


Other Essential Functions  

The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgment is essential (100%). Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law. 


Salary Description
$115,000.00 - $125,000.00
