Roles & Responsibilities

  • 15+ years of experience in valuation services, with at least 5 years at the Director or Partner level within a national accounting or boutique valuation firm.
  • Deep expertise in complex security modeling, discounted cash flow (DCF), and guideline public company/transaction methods.
  • CPA, ABV, ASA, or CFA charter holder required.
  • Proven track record of originating $2M+ in annual professional fees.

Requirements:

  • Strategic Growth: Lead business development for valuation engagements across financial reporting (ASC 805, 350, 718, 820), tax compliance, and transactional advisory; develop and execute a robust go-to-market strategy to expand the Firm’s footprint in the middle-market and Alternative Investment sectors; act as a brand ambassador, representing the Firm at industry conferences and in thought leadership publications.
  • Practice Leadership: Manage the profitability of the valuation service line, focusing on utilization, realization rates, and margin improvement; oversee the next generation of offshore development; modernize delivery models by integrating advanced technology and AI-driven workflows to enhance accuracy and efficiency in due diligence; mentor and develop a high-performing team of 35+ professionals, ensuring a pipeline of future leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with leaders in MA Advisory, Tax, and Audit to provide integrated solutions for clients throughout the investment lifecycle; identify opportunities for warm-lead generation between service lines, ensuring Valuation is positioned as a value-add to existing client relationships; collaborate with the Private Equity Industry group to support fund-level valuations and portfolio company assessments.

Job description

Cherry Bekaert is seeking a dynamic and growth-oriented Partner to join our Valuation Services practice. With a current team of over 30 professionals, our valuation group is a critical component of the Firm’s advisory expansion. This leadership role is designed for a strategic thinker who can drive top-line growth, optimize practice profitability, and foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration.

The successful candidate will serve as a key architect in scaling the practice, leveraging the Firm’s extensive middle-market presence and Private Equity relationships to capture new market share.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Growth & Business Development

  • Lead the pursuit of high-value valuation engagements across financial reporting (ASC 805, 350, 718, 820), tax compliance, and transactional advisory.
  • Develop and execute a robust go-to-market strategy to expand the Firm’s footprint in the middle-market and Alternative Investment sectors.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, representing the Firm at industry conferences and in thought leadership publications.

  • Collaborate with the Private Equity Industry group to support fund-level valuations and portfolio company assessments.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • 15+ years of experience in valuation services, with at least 5 years at the Director or Partner level within a national accounting or boutique valuation firm.
  • Deep expertise in complex security modeling, discounted cash flow (DCF), and guideline public company/transaction methods.
  • CPA, ABV, ASA, or CFA charter holder required.
  • Proven track record of originating $2M+ in annual professional fees.
