Job Summary:The Vendor Governance Manager leads enterprise vendor governance strategy and execution to enable compliant, high-performing third-party partnerships across the organization. This role designs and advances governance frameworks, policies, and controls; partners with cross-functional leaders to support new business and partnership growth, and drives process and capability improvement to strengthen oversight, reduce risk, and improve vendor outcomes. The position also monitors and operationalizes regulatory and compliance change and supports vendor programs including small business, veteran, and disability advocacy.
Essential Functions:- Design, implement, and continuously enhance enterprise vendor governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and controls aligned with Managed Care Organization (MCO) regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Lead governance committee operations to ensure effective decision-making, transparency, and follow-through (e.g., agenda development, stakeholder alignment, materials, and documented outcomes).
- Partner with Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Performance to identify priority contracts, emerging risks, and performance trends for governance review and executive action.
- Identify, track, and escalate instances of contract execution outside established contracting processes; drive remediation and strengthen preventive controls.
- Own and maintain the Vendor Governance charter to clarify decision rights, accountability, cadence, and stakeholder expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement of vendor governance processes, tools, and performance metrics to increase consistency, speed, and control effectiveness.
- Provide leadership for the Vendor Workstream within the Vendor Disability Advocacy Council, advancing actionable initiatives and measurable outcomes.
- Lead small, disabled, and veteran vendor strategy and required spend tracking in alignment with state contract commitments and reporting requirements.
- Maintain and mature new business, merger, and acquisition playbooks for Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Performance, ensuring clear governance, regulatory readiness, and repeatable execution.
- Drive completion of playbook deliverables within defined timelines by orchestrating cross-functional workstreams and ensuring accountability for dependencies not managed by Implementation Management Office (IMO).
- Provide project leadership for implementation activities not managed by the centralized project management office, ensuring scope, timelines, risks, and stakeholder alignment are actively managed.
- Provide coverage and support for regulatory submission activities (as needed), coordinating documentation and approvals to ensure timely, accurate state-required filings.
- Represent Vendor Governance in routine forums and enterprise committees, influencing decisions and promoting consistent governance practices across the organization.

Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's in business administration or related field preferred
- Equivalent years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of required education
- Seven (7) years of experience in managing vendor relationships within a highly regulated industry, preferably in Fortune 500 or large enterprise required
- Three (3) years of people, project or technical leadership experience with proven demonstrated responsibility for development and implementation of strategic plans required
- Knowledge of third-party agreements (TPA), business process outsourcing (BPO), FDR/delegated entities, provider contracting and/or or provider contracts preferred
- Experience in managing third party compliance and oversight of health-care related delegation activities, vendor audits and contracting, and knowledge of Medicaid and/or Medicare is a plus preferred
- Experience leading others and speaking before individuals and groups, vendors, and executive leadership preferred
- Medicaid Managed Care or Healthcare experience required
- Healthcare compliance experience preferred

Licensure and Certification:- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) certification preferred
Working Conditions:- General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Travel is not typically required
Compensation Range:
$83,000.00 - $132,800.00

In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
