Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized results-driven Business Development Director to lead complex business proposals for a leading hyperscale cloud customer. This vital role will help drive and coordinate end-to-end execution and delivery of detailed technical and business proposals, with focus on detailed analysis of each requirement within the RFP, optimizing established pricing strategy, and successfully leveraging the supporting cross-functional team while using data intelligence and customer insights to drive decisions and tailor the delivery of proposals that thoroughly address RFP requirements.

This role will report to the Senior Director of Business Development responsible for this leading hyperscale cloud customer.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Coordinate execution of business development initiatives, RFPs, strategic programs

  • Assist the team in the development and implementation of Product Roadmaps, and strategic growth initiatives

  • Lead the Proposal/Quote development team through successful execution of completed proposal in line with business goals and timelines

  • Review, evaluate and summarize RFQ technical requirements and provide concise directions to cross functional team on key deliverables and expectations

  • Coordinate cross-functional team across Quote Team, Sales Operations, Finance, IT, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and related teams to optimize proposals

  • Effectively lead cross-functional teams across multiple geographical locations through the development and completion of complex business proposals

  • Ensure deliverables and customer inquiries are managed on time

  • Proactively identify, resolve, and mitigate risks that could impact delivery of timely proposals and customer follow-ups

  • Support Sales/Business Development Leaders with detailed proposal analysis, financial reviews, updates to senior leadership and customer meetings

  • Provide effective and concise status reports and regular updates on progress to senior leadership on the team

  • Monitor progress of active RFPs, resolve issues, and report status to senior leaders

  • Update CRM and various related tracking tools on new opportunities

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, program management, business or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, account management, or program management

  • Experience in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) or Contract Manufacturing (CMO) industry

  • Understanding of key financial metrics and capability to read P&L, balance sheets, ROI indicators

  • Proficiency in CRM and project management tools

Success factors:

  • Highly motivated with exceptional communication skills

  • Proven ability to successfully work with and lead cross-functional teams and effectively coordinate across organizational boundaries, and across geographies

  • Strong technical background with ability to explain complex solutions in simple terms

  • Understanding of key financial metrics for evaluating new solutions/opportunities

  • Experience with Quoting strategy, proposal development, complex pricing models

  • Demonstrated experience in working with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, Finance, and related cross-functional areas

  • Strong technical background coupled with commercial and business acumen

  • Comfort and effectiveness in thriving in ambiguous environments

  • Analytical mindset with ability to present data-driven insights

  • Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments with ambiguity

Pay Range (Applicable to US Remote). Due to this role being remote, the actual pay range will vary depending on the geographical location of the candidate

$153,300.00 USD - $210,800.00 USD Annual
