Job description

Company Description

Afficiency is a rapidly growing Insurtech startup whose mission is to provide life insurance to everyone on the platforms they already trust. Located in NYC, we design life insurance products that can be purchased entirely digitally and can be easily embedded into distribution platforms or with agents who sell insurance. The company is experiencing rapid growth and is well-funded. We are looking for new team members to join us on our journey to shake up the life insurance industry. We need individuals who bring passion, curiosity, and a desire for excellence.

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Partnerships Associate to join our Distribution Management team. In this role, you will be the primary engine driving our independent distribution channel. You won’t just help manage distributor accounts; you will be responsible for the "First Mile" of the partner experience. This means ensuring our BGAs, IMOs, and independent agents have a smooth onboarding experience and the ongoing support needed to grow their business.

You will sit at the intersection of sales, operations, and technology, helping us scale our mission to reinvent the life insurance buying process by making it 100% digital, easy to understand, and accessible to everyone.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Scalable Onboarding: Support the end-to-end onboarding of new distribution partners. You will support contracting setup and ensuring agents are "Ready to Sell" with speed and precision.

  • Partner Enablement & Support: Act as the "Internal Advocate" for our partners. You will troubleshoot external and internal inquiries that arise; and provide white-glove support for distribution partners on the eApp, product, and more. Proactive agent engagement to spur production and respond to inquiries. Your role is crucial in removing friction for agents to ensure efficient sales efforts.

  • CRM Operations: Maintain a "Source of Truth" in HubSpot. You will manage the health of our partner's database, ensuring every interaction is logged, and every lead is tracked with meticulous accuracy.

  • Training Webinar Support: Scheduling & Support Training webinars we provide for distribution. Creating and distributing marketing tools and "cheat sheets" to help partners use our platform.

  • Data Storytelling & Reporting: Harness the power of Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) to generate and analyze distribution trends. You will turn sales data into digestible recurring reports with actionable insights for our partners and internal teams.

  • Market Intelligence: Keep a pulse on the independent life insurance landscape, monitoring competitor shifts, and identifying how we can better support our distribution and carrier partners.

What We’re Looking For

  • The "Generalist" Mindset: You are comfortable wearing multiple hats—from relationship manager, to project coordinator, operations wizard.

  • Prior Experience: You have 1–3 years of experience within a Life Insurance Carrier, BGA, or Agency. You understand the "language of insurance" and want to apply it in a modern, fast-growing organization.

  • Excel & CRM User: You have experience working with spreadsheets. You know your way around a CRM and can quickly learn and enhance our current system. You don’t just enter numbers; you have the skills to do some basic to intermediate Excel maneuvering.

  • Operational Execution: You are obsessed with the "Little Things." Whether it’s being super responsive to agent inquiries, following up on key meeting takeaways, or loading key business systems, you know how to execute.

  • The "Figure-it-Out" Factor: You thrive in an environment where not every process is written down. You are proactive, curious, and motivated by the chance to build something better.

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in sales development, marketing, or any life insurance function.

  • “Code-switch": ability to speak both life insurance/business/sales aspects and also understand some technology components of an insurance technology company.

  • Technical: Some proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups) and experience with a CRM (Salesforce/HubSpot).

  • Life Licensed : or ability to obtain a Life & Health License within the first 120 days (the company usually pays for this)

Additional Information

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with equity options
  • Robust health, dental, and vision benefits for employee and dependents
  • 401k matching contributions
  • Generous PTO policy
  • Provided work-from-home equipment

  • Work at a supportive and fast-growing startup with a fantastic team
  • Environment to learn from other team members, grow a business from the ground up.
  • Support in developing your skills and accelerating your career quickly.
  • Opportunity to make an impact in the lives of tens of millions of consumers and get families the protection they need.
