THE JOB:
The Senior Software Engineer I plays a key role in advancing technology innovations from concept to production. This position is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of high-quality solutions that enable exceptional customer experiences. The role involves building production-grade software across the full lifecycle, including visioning, requirements definition, planning, execution, deployment, and ongoing support and optimization.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Lead the development and delivery of production-grade software across the full lifecycle, including vision, requirements definition, planning, execution, deployment, and sustainment.

  • Partner closely with Product Management to design and deliver seamless, high-quality customer experiences.

  • Collaborate with technology leadership to evaluate, adopt, and implement new tools, technologies, and engineering practices that enhance platform performance and scalability.

  • Ensure system consistency, reliability, supportability, and observability across services through strong engineering standards and operational excellence.

  • Communicate effectively across teams to align stakeholders, foster collaboration, and drive solutions to complex technical challenges.

  • Evaluate product tradeoffs and deliver simple, intuitive, and dependable solutions while building strong cross-functional relationships to gain trust and alignment across all organizational levels.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with 5+ years of experience delivering commercial cloud and backend software solutions at enterprise or internet scale (or equivalent experience).

  • Proven experience developing and maintaining production-grade software in languages such as Java, C++, or similar.

  • Strong background in distributed systems, enterprise platforms, and modern development practices, including Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps environments.

  • Solid understanding of full-stack architecture, including UI, services, data storage, and communication layers, along with software engineering best practices across the full development lifecycle.

  • Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, deliver strong customer service, and effectively use standard business tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience in a similar industry environment is a plus.
