Overview: Under general supervision, The Workplace Technology Platform Lead owns the strategy, governance, and business value of the Microsoft 365 platform, ensuring it enables productivity, collaboration, and compliant information management across the organization. This role is accountable for defining the platform roadmap and operating model, setting standards for tool usage, and balancing user experience, risk, cost, and scalability. The lead is responsible for enterprise governance for lifecycle management, data retention, and information protection, serving as the primary business liaison to Security, Privacy, Legal, and Architecture teams. They provide oversight of platform operations and high impact issue escalation, use adoption and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement, and lead change and adoption efforts to ensure consistent, effective platform use. The role also guides platform resources, influences cross functional stakeholders, and evaluates new Microsoft 365 capabilities through a business value lens to guide intentional, well governed platform evolution. This is an individual contributor role.
Responsibilities:

Partners with Finance and Procurement on licensing strategy, vendor management, and cost optimization
Monitors governance effectiveness and adjusts based on risk assessments, audits, and business feedback
Provides oversight of platform operations, service health, and support escalation
Acts as the escalation point for high-impact issues, driving decisions, communication, and risk mitigation
Uses operational, adoption, and experience metrics to drive continuous platform improvement
Leads adoption and change strategies to ensure effective, consistent use of M365 across the organization
Sponsors major initiatives (e.g., SharePoint Online migrations), minimizing disruption and maximizing business value
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Business-level knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and how collaboration tools enable productivity at scale

Experience:
5 years of hands on experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365 services
Experience with SharePoint Online (site design, permissions, metadata, content types, migration), Microsoft Teams administration, and OneDrive management.
Preferred Training, Certification and Education:
Microsoft certifications (MS700, MS720, MS600, SC300, PL200, etc.)
Experience supporting enterprise scale SharePoint or workflow migrations
Background in digital workplace transformation, ECM, or cloud governance programs
Working Conditions:
Remote/Home office
Must be able to use equipment at workstation, in an indoor environment, for up to 8 hours daily
May be required to work a flexible work schedule
Weekend & Evening availability during deployment & maintenance-window-oriented events
May require after hours work if a system outage and/or security incident occurs
