Job Description Summary:

As an OSP Field Technician II, you’ll take on a more independent role supporting the installation, maintenance, inspection, and documentation of OSP telecommunications infrastructure. This position builds on prior field experience and requires strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work directly with construction teams, utilities, and permitting agencies.

Job Description:

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct field surveys to verify existing utilities, right-of-way conditions, and project requirements

  • Document field conditions using maps, drawings, notes, and photographs

  • Support preparation and review of OSP design drawings, construction plans, and permits

  • Assist with installation and maintenance of OSP infrastructure

  • Perform field testing and basic troubleshooting of connectivity or performance issues

  • Collaborate with construction crews, utilities, and permitting agencies to ensure compliance

  • Track project progress, field changes, and issues requiring escalation

  • Maintain accurate records including as-builts, permits, and inspection reports

  • Provide technical guidance to other OSP Field Team members

  • Operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment safely

  • Promote and follow OSHA and company safety standards

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1–3 years of experience in OSP field operations, telecom, or related work

  • Experience with fiber optic installation, testing, or splicing

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs

  • Frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, and field work

  • Ability to work at heights up to 25–30 feet

  • Regular travel to project sites with occasional overnight stays
