We are expanding our network of trusted freelance Analytics Engineers for upcoming and ongoing client projects. This is a fully remote B2B freelance/contractor role (you invoice us directly or through your company). You will be embedded on client engagements where you own the data transformation and semantic layer using dbt as your core tool. Strong BI skills are essential - you will ensure every data model directly powers clean, high-performance dashboards and self-service analytics. Hands-on experience with Omni BI is a significant plus.

  • Contract type: Contractor through B2B

  • Contract length: 2 months and potential to extend

  • Daily Requirement: 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday

  • Expected start date: ASAP (From 01 Apr 2026)

  • Interview process: 1 technical round

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain production-grade dbt projects for our clients (models, tests, macros, snapshots, documentation, and semantic layer)

  • Build clean, well-documented analytics marts and metrics layers optimized for BI consumption and performance

  • Collaborate closely with client stakeholders, BI teams, and our consultants to define business metrics and translate requirements into reliable data models

  • Implement rigorous data quality testing, monitoring, lineage, and governance practices

  • Optimize cloud warehouse performance for fast BI experiences (incremental models, materializations, query tuning)

  • Support BI tool implementations and dashboard delivery by delivering analytics-ready data

  • Manage Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and DataOps best practices in client environments

  • Quickly ramp up on new client stacks and proactively improve their data foundation during the engagement

Requirements (Must-Haves)

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as an Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer, or equivalent

  • Expert-level proficiency with dbt - you must have owned full production dbt projects end-to-end (modeling, testing, documentation, CI/CD)

  • Strong BI expertise: proven ability to define KPIs/metrics and build/optimize data models that power dashboards in Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Omni BI, or similar tools

  • Advanced SQL and dimensional data modeling skills (star schemas, semantic layers, incremental processing)

  • Solid experience with at least one modern cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks) - Snowflake is a plus

  • Comfortable working independently as a contractor in client-facing environments

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work remotely with distributed teams

  • Own legal entity / VAT number (or equivalent) for B2B contracting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Omni BI (highly valued)

  • Previous consulting/freelance or agency experience

  • Familiarity with dbt Semantic Layer, dbt Cloud, and BI tool integrations

  • Exposure to data ingestion (Fivetran, Confluent) tools

  • dbt certification or active community involvement

What We Offer

  • Competitive freelance rates (hourly or daily - please share your expectations)

  • 100% remote work with flexible scheduling

  • Variety of interesting client projects across industries and tech stacks

  • Opportunity for long-term collaboration (multiple successive projects)

  • Clear project scopes, professional support from our core team, and direct impact on client outcomes

  • Chance to work with cutting-edge tools (heavy dbt usage + potential Omni BI implementations)
