Automotive Equipment Technician

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Associate's Degree in a technical field, military training, or equivalent with 1-5 years of experience
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics and strong mechanical skills
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) and knowledge of PC hardware repair
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work from home; self-starter

Requirements:

  • Repair, maintain, and install Snap-on equipment in the assigned territory, following established repair standards, response times, prioritization, and customer communication protocols
  • Troubleshoot complex customer problems and ensure call completion and closure for all customers in the assigned area
  • Sell service contracts, updates/upgrades, and parts; schedule regular site visits to provide timely equipment service; assist with collection of outstanding receivables and perform required administrative duties
  • Collaborate with the Snap-on Equipment Sales Force to align service activities and support inventory and fleet management, including on-site signatures and documentation

Overview:

Starting Pay: $24-27/hr plus incentive pay that averages an additional $8,000-10,000/year

 

The global leader in automotive equipment, Snap-on Equipment, has an immediate opening for an Automotive Equipment Technician. The Automotive Equipment Technician is responsible for overall service call completion within the territory. The Automotive Equipment Technician is also responsible for assisting in problem solving, equipment installatio,n and repair. Additional responsibilities are below. Serviceable equipment includes:

 

Wheel Aligners

Wheel Balancers

Tire Changers

Alignment Lifts

Automotive/ General Purpose Lifts

Specialty Lifts

Brake Lathes

Collision Repair Equipment

A/C Units

Responsibilities:
  • Repair, maintain, and install equipment in the assigned territory. Follow clearly established standards for repair protocol, response times, prioritization, and customer communications.
  • Assists with complex customer problems.
  • Responsible for call completion and closure for all customers in the assigned area.
  • Manage customers' equipment needs during and after warranty periods.
  • Resolves customer problems and ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Sells contracts, updates/upgrades, and parts in the assigned territory.
  • Calls on customers prior to the warranty or contract termination date.
  • Makes cold calls to pursue the sale of service contracts.
  • Schedules regular site visits with customers in order to provide timely, accurate equipment service.
  • Assists with the collection of outstanding receivables.
  • Administrative duties as required.
  • Ability to resolve customer problems and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assists with the collection of outstanding receivables.
  • Administrative duties such as on-site signatures form customers, inventory management, and fleet management.
  • Collaboration with Snap-on Equipment Sales Force
Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in a technical field, military training, or equivalent with 1-5 years of experience.
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics and strong mechanical skills.
  • Computer literacy on Microsoft Office products.
  • And knowledge of PC hardware repair.
  • Basic knowledge of undercar automotive operations.
  • Knowledge of all products serviced by Snap-on Inc. as well as knowledge of all internal procedures.
  • Ability to lift 45lbs and work in an environment where frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, and sitting while driving is required.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to work with customers on a direct basis.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess the ability to work from home and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to follow Snap-on’s Safety priorities and maintain a safe working environment, through awareness and focus
  • Ability to further expand the use of Rapid Continuous Improvement in the day-to-day activities of the job, to help increase organizational capacity.
