Position Overview

The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University invites applications for a Lecturer (non-tenure track) to join our team for the 2026 Summer Semester.  This is an associated faculty position, one semester appointment for the full summer term (appointment dates are 05/11/26-08/14/26) with the potential for renewal. 

Performance Objectives

The successful candidates will teach undergraduate courses in the area of Philosophy as assigned; hold office hours; grade assignments and submit grades; may participate in curriculum development and course coordination.

Additional Information

The budget for this position is up to $6,730.00. The offer for this position will be based on internal equity and the candidate's qualifications. 

While this position is fully remote, only candidates who reside in the State of Ohio will be considered. This is due to the occasional need to attend meetings, trainings, and other on‑site events held on our Columbus campus.

The Department of Philosophy teaches philosophical courses across the undergraduate curriculum and contributes to multiple interdisciplinary majors and certificate programs. The department offers an undergraduate major, and a PhD program.
