Senior Systems Validation Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

  • B.S./M.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering (or related field)
  • 10-15 years of experience in systems validation for high-speed networking SerDes and mixed-signal/analog/digital ICs, with knowledge of PCS and PMA networking layers
  • Hands-on debugging experience with high-speed interfaces such as CSI-2 and Ethernet
  • Expertise in script-based test automation (Python) and strong scripting skills; proficiency in C/C++, firmware modules/architecture, and RTOS; experience with GPUs/SoCs used in ADAS

Requirements:

  • System validation planning: Develop and implement detailed validation test plans covering all hardware and firmware configurations and develop validation methodologies/infrastructure to achieve coverage
  • Test development: Develop self-checking test cases using Python and C/C++ in embedded CPU build environment
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Design, DV, Analog and Firmware teams to debug, root-cause and resolve validation issues, and reproduce customer use-cases with FAE teams
  • Automation and reporting: Develop scripts and web-based tools to automate system validation and FW QA tests and document results, metadata analysis, and QA coverage for stakeholders

Job description

We are looking for a senior system validation engineer who will drive and contribute to post-silicon validation of hardware with software based on customer use-cases of NXP’s Automotive grade products. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality, performance, power and reliability of the complete system, leading up to automotive qualification through comprehensive validation processes.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • System Validation planning – Develop and implement detailed validation test-plan covering all hardware and firmware configurations and develop validation methodologies/infrastructure to achieve the coverage
  • Test development – Develop self-checking test-cases using Python and C/C++ in embedded CPU build environment.
  • Collaboration - Work closely with Design, DV, Analog and Firmware teams to debug, root-cause and resolve any issues that may arise during validation. In addition, work with FAE teams to understand customer use-cases and failures and reproduce the same.
  • Firmware releases – Document test results, meta data analysis and FW QA coverage reports. Communicate the same with stakeholders, including customers.
  • Automation – Develop various scripts, web-based tools to automate both system validation and FW QA tests as well as collecting reports and diagnostics data

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • B.S./M.S. Electrical/Computer Engineering (or similar degrees)
  • 10-15 years of experience in systems validation with high-speed networking SerDes, mixed signal/analog/digital ICs and blocks, knowledge of PCS and PMA networking layers.
  • Hands on experience with debug of high-speed interfaces like CSI-2, Ethernet.
  • Expertise with script-based test automation (Python) and strong scripting skills in general.
  • Expertise with C/C++, Firmware modules and architecture and RTOS.
  • Experience in various GPU and SOC used in ADAS industry solutions
