Job description

About Odd Bunch

Odd Bunch is on a mission to make fresh produce more affordable and accessible across Canada. We are a fast-growing, sustainable subscription-based produce service, helping Canadians save thousands of dollars on their grocery bills, supporting local farmers, fighting food waste, donating to families suffering from food insecurity, and building a better planet in the process.

We currently operate in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, with most of our team located in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and London..

About the Role

We're looking for a Content Creation Lead who genuinely loves social media - not just being on camera, but the craft of short-form storytelling, the art of a great hook, and the energy of building a real community online.

You'll work closely with a dedicated content manager, bringing the team’s ideas to life, on screen and off.

The ideal candidate is someone who lights up when the camera turns on, but also geeks out over why one video outperforms another. You're as comfortable analyzing retention curves on a Reel as you are filming a talking-head in your living room. You understand that organic and paid social aren't separate worlds - and you know how to create content that works for both.

As Odd Bunch grows, this role will evolve with it. You'll be creating content that reaches audiences across multiple markets, and your work will play a direct role in shaping how new communities discover and connect with the brand.

What You'll Be Doing

Content Creation

  • Develop and execute short-form video content for Instagram and TikTok that drives awareness, engagement, and community growth - in close collaboration with a content manager
  • Produce platform-native content including Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook Reels
  • Write engaging captions optimized for reach and discoverability
  • Maintain and manage Odd Bunch's social media accounts across platforms, ensuring consistency in brand voice and posting cadence
  • Monitor comments and DMs, engage with the audience, and foster genuine two-way conversation
  • Own the full production process: concept, scripting, shooting, lighting, editing, and final sign-off
  • Appear on camera regularly and comfortably as a face of the brand - while also sourcing and directing other creators or community members as needed
  • Analyze content performance beyond surface-level metrics - watch time, drop-off points, scroll-stopping rate, save-to-share ratio - and bring those learnings back into the next piece of content
  • Create content that works across both organic and paid social channels, understanding the differences in intent, format, and performance benchmarks

Video & Short-Form Content

  • Film and edit short-form video optimized for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook Reels
  • Stay on top of emerging social trends, formats, and creative approaches - and bring them to the team proactively
  • Organize and manage social video assets

Community Management

  • Foster and grow an engaged community across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and Reddit - this could include launching and managing a Facebook Group or similar community spaces
  • Respond to comments, DMs, and community conversations in a way that's warm, on-brand, and human
  • Spot UGC opportunities and amplify community voices as part of the content mix

Campaigns & Brand Initiatives

  • Support social campaigns, giveaways, and partnerships
  • Collaborate with the marketing team and internal stakeholders on integrated initiatives
  • Support or lead additional initiatives including influencer collaborations, brand partnerships, PR moments, and affiliate programs
  • Contribute to the broader marketing strategy with a creator's eye and a data-informed mindset

What We're Looking For

  • 3-4 years of proven experience managing social media and creating short-form video content for a brand - ideally in food, CPG, grocery, or eCommerce, but we care more about your instincts than your industry
  • You are comfortable and confident on camera
  • Working knowledge of video editing (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar)
  • Experience with community management: you've built, nurtured, or moderated an online community and you understand the difference between broadcasting and actually connecting
  • Self-starter with a bias toward action - you don't wait for a perfect brief to start creating
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with a content manager, video editor, marketing team, and leadership
  • Based in Canada, with Toronto preferred for in-person filming

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with both organic and paid social creative
  • Familiarity with Facebook Groups, Reddit communities, or other community platforms beyond Instagram and TikTok
  • Background in a startup, DTC brand, or fast-paced creative environment
  • Graphic design skills (Canva, etc.)

What We Offer

  • Health plan available after 6 months
  • RRSP and pension plan available at 12 months
  • Free grocery plan
  • 20 days PTO
  • Full-time, hybrid role based in Canada
  • Remote flexibility with in-person filming as needed
  • Real, tangible growth potential - we're scaling fast and actively creating new opportunities as we go. The right person won't just fill this role, they'll help define what it grows into
  • Annual bonus potential

Portfolio Requirement

To be considered, please submit all three of the following: a resume, a cover letter, and a portfolio or links to past work. Applications missing any of these three components will not be reviewed.

Your portfolio submission should include at least one of the following:

  • Links to social media accounts you have managed or contributed to
  • Examples of Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, or other short-form content you have created
  • A portfolio of visual or social media content

Join us in our mission to eliminate food waste and improve food affordability in Canada.
