The Department of Psychology seeks part-time interviewers in Tucson, AZ for a longitudinal study. We prefer candidates who are bilingual in English/Spanish. Interviewers work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. However, most of the hours will be during high school times. This is an ideal position for anyone seeking a flexible position or supplemental income.
We especially welcome advanced undergraduate or graduate students who are passionate about working with diverse communities, gaining research experience, or exploring careers in mental health, psychology, or social science. You’ll receive training, mentorship, and valuable experience working on a nationally impactful research project.
This position involves assisting in community outreach and survey assessment of teens in local high schools in Tucson AZ, as well as study related records and communicating with Study Staff as needed.
Schedules are flexible, with teens choosing when and where to best complete their assessments; however, training times will have set dates/times. These duties are typically performed during school hours when teens are most available.
Position Salary Range:
$22.26 per hour.
Essential Duties:
Recruit Families: Engage and recruit teens to participate in the CIELO study.
Answer Inquiries: Address questions and provide information about the study to potential participants.
Consent Process: Obtain informed consent from caregivers/parents to participate in the study.
Assent Process: Obtain assent from teens (with parent’s permission) to participate in the study.
Survey Administration:
Schedule Assessments: Coordinate and schedule study-related assessments with participating teens.
Conduct Assessments: Administer computer-assisted assessments in-person at local high schools and documenting in RedCap.
Data Collection: Ensure the accurate and timely collection of data during assessments.
Attend Training: Participate in scheduled and online training sessions to ensure consistency and quality in data collection methods as required by IRB and HR.
Adhere to Protocols: Follow all study protocols and ethical guidelines to ensure the integrity of the research.
Flexible Hours: Work flexible hours, with a minimum commitment of 5 hours per week and a maximum of 10 hours per week.
Evenings and Weekends: Primarily work during school hours but occasional evenings and weekends when families are most available.

Bilingual in English/Spanish.
Comfortable and confident with people; ability to be at ease with strangers and begin conversations.
Culturally sensitive with the ability to readily establish professional rapport with diverse populations.
Ability to establish and maintain a positive, professional rapport with people from a variety of backgrounds.
Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Ability to read smoothly and clearly from a script, including questions that are sometimes sensitive in nature.
Maintain neutrality by asking questions as written, staying on script, and using non-directional probing to get accurate answers to questions.
Basic computer skills, including typing and using multiple browsers.
Windows-based computer proficiency, including reading and responding to emails and chat messages.
Proficient use of Google Chrome for navigating multiple websites and switching between them with confidence.
Ability to accurately document and track work progress and status both online and offline.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work well independently and manage flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to adapt to study participants needs (some families may need to reschedule their scheduled appointments).
Responsive to coaching and feedback.
Prior remote work experience is of benefit.

Work Schedule:
Flexible Hours: While we have core hours from 7 AM - 5 PM AZ time zone for team meetings, collaboration and trainings, you have some flexibility for your work hours outside of these times.
Primary Tools: We use Email, Microsoft Teams, Zoom/Zoom phone, Dropbox, Google.
Video Meetings: Regular video meetings are held via Zoom for team syncs, project discussions, one-on- ones and data collection.
Email: Important announcements and detailed communications are shared via email or slack.
We encourage employees to use their own devices. For data collection, you can be provided with a tablet (e.g. iPad)/Smart Device.
Internet Requirements: Your remote workspace must have Wi-Fi and high-speed internet to ensure efficient and reliable connectivity.
