People Data & Insights Specialist

Job Description

Who are we?

Hello, we’re IG Group. We are a publicly-traded FTSE250 FinTech company who run mobile, web and desktop platforms that help our clients trade stocks & shares, leveraged products, Futures & Options and Crypto.

We are ambitious. Over 340,000 people already use our platforms.

We’re global with offices in 18 countries and products in 16 regions. We’re hungry to move faster, ship better product for our customers and grow our user base. We believe in high autonomy, and we want people who are looking to do things differently in order to create better experiences for our customers.

We work in cross-functional teams and are laser focused on increasing the number of active clients we serve to drive sustainable growth.

About the Role

We are looking for an analytically sharp and commercially minded People Data & Insights Specialist to bring IG's people data to life. This is a newly created role sitting within the HR Transformation & Technology team, and exists to close a critical gap: ensuring that HR and business leaders have access to accurate, timely, and meaningful people insight to make better decisions, faster.

About the Team

This role sits within the HR Transformation & Technology function, reporting directly into the Head of HR Transformation & Technology. The team is responsible for the platforms, systems, and data infrastructure that underpin IG's People function globally. You will work in close partnership with HRBPs, the HR Change team, and Finance, and will be a key enabler of the wider People strategy as IG continues its transformation.

This is an individual contributor role with significant visibility, your outputs will inform decisions at the most senior levels of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own IG's people data ecosystem - consolidate and connect people data from across our core platforms (Workday, Looker, Workday Recruit, engagement survey tools, and Finance) into a coherent, reliable, and accessible single source of truth.

  • Design and deliver trusted dashboards - build and maintain a suite of self-serve dashboards that enable HRBPs and business leaders to access the people insight they need, independently and in real time.

  • Drive strategic workforce analytics - translate raw people data into meaningful insight on topics such as headcount, attrition, hiring, engagement, and workforce composition to support IG's commercial and people priorities.

  • Champion data governance and quality - define and embed data standards, ownership, and quality controls across people data sources, reducing reliance on manual and Excel-based reporting over time.

  • Partner with HRBPs and business leaders - act as a trusted adviser on people data, helping stakeholders to understand what the numbers mean, ask better questions, and make more confident talent and workforce decisions.

  • Support the HR transformation agenda - contribute to wider projects that improve how the People function operates, bringing a data-driven perspective to process improvement and technology decisions.

  • Build HRBP data capability - equip HRBPs with the skills and confidence to self-serve, reducing dependency on bespoke data pulls and creating a more scalable operating model for people insight.

Role Requirements

  • Proven experience in a people analytics, HR data, or workforce insights role within a complex, multi-region organisation.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, comfortable writing and optimising queries to extract, manipulate and analyse data from large datasets.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to build robust models and handle large, messy datasets.

  • Hands-on experience with at least one BI or data visualisation tool (e.g. Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent), including building dashboards for non-technical end users.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives for HR and business stakeholders.

  • Experience working with multiple data sources (e.g. HRIS, ATS, engagement tools, Finance) and an understanding of how to connect and reconcile them.

  • Strong data governance instincts, experience defining data standards, improving data quality, and reducing manual reporting.

Desirable

  • Experience working with Workday as a core HRIS, including familiarity with its reporting and data structures.

  • Exposure to Workday Prism Analytics or equivalent data integration tooling.

  • Experience working with engagement or listening platforms (e.g. Glint, Peakon).

  • Familiarity with recruitment data and ATS reporting.

  • Experience operating in a listed, regulated, or financial services environment.

  • Exposure to strategic workforce planning methodologies.

Personal Attributes

  • Acts with integrity and consistently demonstrates high professional and ethical standards.

  • Delivers high-quality work with energy, accountability, and a strong sense of urgency.

  • Commercial and solutions-focused, enabling growth while maintaining strong compliance and client protection.

  • Committed to continuous improvement in controls and ways of working.

  • Communicates clearly and manages stakeholders effectively.

  • Collaborates constructively while providing confident and effective challenge.

  • Demonstrates sound judgement and resilience.

  • Comfortable working from IG’s London office a minimum of three days per week.
