Salary: $155,000-$165,000


Work location: Remote. Candidates must be local to the DC area in case of on-site meetings in Rockville, Maryland.

 

The Development and Test Environment Lead oversees the setup, operation, and optimization of development and pre-production environments to ensure they accurately reflect production conditions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing, monitoring, and maintaining development and pre-production environments so they remain aligned with production configurations.
  • Coordinating activities across development, pre-production, and production environments to ensure smooth transitions, consistent configuration management, and effective collaboration among technical teams.
  • Supporting test lifecycle activities, including aiding testers with test strategy development, overseeing test execution, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and analyzing and reporting test outcomes.
  • Driving environment automation, such as designing automation frameworks, developing scripts, and integrating with CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and testing processes.
  • Serving as a liaison between release/deployment functions and technical teams responsible for workstation, server, and maintenance operations to ensure efficient promotion of changes through the delivery pipeline.
Requirements
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to set up, monitor and maintain Development and Pre-Production environments to accurately mirror the Production environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to include the ability to coordinate activities between the NRC’s Development, Pre-Production and Production environments.
  • Ability to support testers during the development of testing strategies and plans, test execution to include ensuring quality standards, as well as, analysis and reporting on test results.
  • Understanding of various testing types (functional, performance, security) and testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in automation to include but not limited to design frameworks, scripting (Java, Python, etc.), and integration with CI/CD.
  • Experience acting as a liaison between the release and deployment team and other teams associated with workstation and server M&O.
  • A high-level of experience and skill relevant to the role.
  • Strong project management skills; experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from the envisioning stage through to implementation, involving internal personnel, Contractors, and vendors; ability to analyze project needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives in a fast paced, high pressure and relatively complex technical environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels.
  • High standards of respect for individuals, excellence, and service to the customer.

Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.



The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
