HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
As a Senior Manager, Data Integration, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping advance the mission of USGBC. This role is accountable for driving enterprise-wide data maturity, enabling scalable, future-state architecture that supports advanced analytics, AI/ML, and data-driven decision-making.
You’ll report to the Senior Director, Data Strategy & Solutions and be part of a collaborative team environment where your contributions will have immediate and impactful outcomes for data consumers.
You’ll work closely with business and technology teams across the organization to serve as the enterprise lead for data integration strategy, defining the vision, roadmap, and standards for how data is structured, governed, and leveraged across USGBC.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a technical team of 1-3 data engineering resources. Lead the day-to-day operations and tasking of your team. Manage workload, breaking down high level direction to smaller tasks, optimizing assignments and ensuring timely execution. Foster an inclusive team environment focused on professional growth and development.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a modernized ELT solution at USGBC. Establish and meet goals for data pipeline transparency, optimized orchestration, performance monitoring, and incident response, aligned with industry best practices.
- Lead the expansion of USGBC’s data governance program. Engage business and technology teams to standardize processes, clarify roles & responsibilities, define & ensure data quality, and deliver end-to-end transparency in data lineage. Work with data producers and consumers, leveraging governance to deepen engagement with data across the enterprise.
- Oversee the transformation of USGBC’s cloud data environment into a medallion architecture aligned with the data governance framework. Optimize for quality, accessibility, and cost, ensuring interoperability across data domains through field alignment and robust semantic layers designed for AI/ML processing.
- Support product launches with rapid data integration solutions. Engage application developers and business teams during feature design and testing, establishing and meeting goals for post-launch integration with existing databases and reports
- Support the expansion of data accessibility and literacy at USGBC. Manage database access and onboarding procedures for staff. Prepare and maintain self-service training materials for new users and periodically host interactive training sessions to support technical growth of data power users.
- Stay current with the rapidly evolving data industry. Monitor trends, seek professional development opportunities, and generally serve as a leading SME for data management industry best practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- 7+ years’ experience in data warehouse or application database development, analytics, business intelligence, or related field.
- 5+ years’ of active and frequent coding experience in SQL required. Must have experience developing and optimizing stored procedures for enterprise level solutions.
- 3+ years’ hands on experience with enterprise level-cloud data warehousing/ETL/ELT solutions, including requirements drafting, data modeling, solution development, deployment, and maintenance. Snowflake experience highly desired.
- 2+ years’ experience developing ELT/ETL & orchestration solutions in a structured ELT/ETL environment such as Talend, Fivetran, Matillion, Airbyte, Airflow, etc. is required.
- 2+ years’ experience working under a formal enterprise-level data governance program required, including experience implementing data governance framework into a medallion architecture covering multiple data domains.
- 2+ years’ supervisory experience managing the work of technical/engineering resources
- Foundational understanding of relational and dimensional modeling techniques is required. Expertise in dimensional modeling best practices is required.
- Experience with git preferred.
- Experience with ERP solutions such as SAP and CRM solutions such as Salesforce preferred

Education
- Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in computer science, business intelligence and analytics, information technology management, data science, or related field
Technology/System(s)
- Required: Snowflake, MySQL, Openflow/ApacheNiFi (or similar cloud based orchestration tool), and Python required
- Preferred: Salesforce, git, AWS, Fabric, Auth0, Entra, Sharepoint
Skills
- Expert data engineering skills, specifically in SQL data pipeline design and development
- Strong initiative and problem solving skills required – ability to initiate and execute detailed plans aligned with team vision and strategy without detailed instructions
- Strong project and resource management skills – able to plan and schedule deliverables across multiple resources, ensuring optimal resource allocation resulting in healthy and manageable workloads while meeting deadlines.
- Self-management and self-knowledge – understands their strengths and weaknesses, commits to work they can deliver, requests help when needed
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills—ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Certifications
- SnowPro Core Certification required within one year of hire
- LEED Green Associate required within one year of hire

Final compensation and benefits will be confirmed at the time of offer and may vary based on factors such as internal equity, relevant experience, qualifications, and employment status. Please note that salary negotiations will not extend beyond the top of the internal salary range.

Work Schedule: 9:00 to 5:30 PM at the candidate’s time zone.
