Position Summary:

The Premium Operations Associate supports the day-to-day processing of premium and commission transactions across various insurance products. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in insurance operations. The Associate works closely with senior team members to ensure data accuracy, timely processing, and compliance with internal procedures and external requirements. This role offers opportunities to learn core operational processes and contribute to the success of the underwriting service operations team. This candidate can sit 100% remote in Eastern or Central time zone.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assist in the entry, validation, and reconciliation of premium data from agents and brokers.

  • Support the processing of premium adjustments and commission calculations under the guidance of senior team members.

  • Support billing processing with entry into applicable systems.

  • Monitor incoming payments and assist in verifying the accuracy of cash application records.

  • Help prepare reports and documentation for internal use and external audits.

  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to resolve basic discrepancies or data issues.

  • Maintain accurate records and follow established procedures to ensure compliance and consistency.

  • Participate in training and development activities to build knowledge of insurance operations and systems.

  • Support process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting enhancements.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced operational setting.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn new tools and systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field preferred.

  • 6 months to 3 years of experience in insurance (operations), finance, or administrative operations.

  • Loss sensitive adjustment experience preferred, but not required.

  • Internship or coursework related to insurance or financial services is a plus.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$55,300 - $71,910/year + 5% target bonus

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
