  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Toxicology, or Crop Science
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a regulatory role focused on product registration, project management and/or process improvement
  • Experience registering lawn and garden pesticides, fertilizers, or fertilizer/pesticide products; familiarity with APHIS, OMRI or similar lawn and garden regulations is a plus
  • Subject matter expert in regulations critical to SMG portfolio (e.g., FIFRA, fertilizer registrations) with ability to read/interpret regulations and communicate impact to diverse audiences

  • Leverage relationships with regulatory agencies to deliver product registrations as agreed upon by the business and review/approve labels in accordance with applicable laws and regulations

We are looking for a Analyst, Regulatory Affairs who will join our  team.  

This position is an individual contributor that makes functional decisions and takes appropriate actions to ensure compliant filing of regulatory documents.  It develops and executes registration strategies developed as part of the Regulatory Affairs team.  This person understands how to interact effectively with wide variety of people, building relationships with Federal and state regulatory agencies related to labeling and product registration.  The position is able to communicate new and existing compliance requirements, impact to timelines and project risks to internal teams.

In this role you will:

• Makes functional decisions and takes appropriate actions to ensure compliant filing of regulatory documents to support new product launches and/or product maintenance activities.

• Contributes to the development of impact assessments on emerging regulations. Participates in the creation of company positions.

• Build sustainable relationships and trust with internal and external stakeholders through open and interactive communication. 

• Leverages relationships with regulatory agencies to deliver product registrations as per agreed upon by the business.  

• Reviews and approves labels and labeling in accordance with applicable laws and regulations         

What you'll need to be successful:

• Bachelor's Degree, Biology, chemistry, engineering, toxicology, crop science

• Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a regulatory role with a focus on product registration, project management and/or process improvement.
• Desired: Experience registering lawn and garden pesticides, fertilizers and fertilizer/pesticide combination products.  Experience with APHIS, OMRI or other lawn and garden regulations is a plus.   

Skills:

•  Subject matter expert in regulations critical to SMG portfolio (FIFRA, fertilizer registration, etc.).  Awareness of other related regulations (e.g., DOT, Prop 65, etc.).
•  Ability to read and interpret regulations as well as predict impact to SMG and lawn and garden industry.
•  Demonstrated success in translating complex regulatory topics to a wide variety of audiences                                        
 

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $77,200.00 - $90,800.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
