Job description

Uken is looking for someone passionate about data to join our team.  You will play a vital role in improving existing games and launching new ones by providing Product Managers insights into player behaviour.  You will be deeply involved in our data-driven game design process by working closely with teams across the organization.  Your role in that process is to analyze and make sense of huge datasets in order to optimize the player experience and monitor the health of the game as a whole. 



As a Ukenite, you’ll be working on meaningful things like: 

  • Building reports, dashboards and data visualizations that are used every day by product and growth teams
  • Designing and monitoring the quality of new data sources to streamline routine analysis
  • Performing cohorted player analysis to unlock insights into player behaviour
  • Assisting in the design of new game features
  • Helping to manage billions of rows of data along with our data pipeline
  • Responding to ad-hoc requests from the product team, growth team and leadership when insights into our data are needed



Your background should include:

  • Writing, debugging, and validating complex SQL queries against large datasets with considerations of maintainability and performance
  • Experience performing analysis (cohorted, timeseries, and A/B tests) to generate insights, with a focus on measuring impact and shaping a product roadmap
  • Experience managing a live product
  • The ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences 
  • An appetite to learn, grow, and take on increasingly more responsibility
  • Interest in AI tools for enhancing productivity



It'd be a big plus if you have:

  • Previous experience at a mobile game/app company
  • Previous experience with Python for statistical analysis
  • Previous experience with machine learning
  • Previous experience with AI coding tools like Claude Code or similar
  • Degree in statistics, economics, math, the sciences, or a related field
  • A passion for game design or mobile games
